I refuse to answer Anonymous calls

Said hello four times than hung up

Anybody else call the **SEARS ROBUCK** or any other CORPORATE TOLL FREE NUMBER in the past few days before getting on of these 855-284 or 855-285 calls???

Spouse called SEARS on MONDAY evening, 12/15/14 about an online order that had gone wrong, and got their INDIA CALL CENTER.  Woman there was HEAVILY ACCENTED and VERY UNHELPFUL; if it didn't 'fit her script' she had no idea what to do other than to deny us service.  I encouraged a VERY frustrated spouse to call back and ask for supervisor, BUT on the SECOND call, we got an AMERICAN in AMERICA and problem was resolved immediately!

BUT, starting Tuesday, 12/16/14, we have been getting  3-4 SPAM calls DAILY from these types of numbers, and others that didn't start until then:

855-284-4823   They CHANGE their numbers DAILY and start all over again.

201-205-6392  (We don's ans., but others report INDIAN ACCENTS on the other end)

ALL since 12/15/14, and multiple times; ****ALL SCAMS.****

Time to OUTLAW OVERSEAS CALL CENTERS; these people GET OUR PRIVATE INFO and are NOT under US LAW jurisdiction, so can 'share' with relatives and other fellow spammers over there, with impunity.  TELL the companies you do business with you will STOP if they continue to use these UN-American Ctrs.  (And, give jobs back to AMERICANS.)

This number comes two and three times a day, I have ignored, shouted to stop calling, shouting that I shall report the number, next time I am going to scream as loudly as I can.  That is totally how I feel being frustrated to be continually interrupted by unwanted calls and interrupted.

Called the number back and it is the American Cancer Society.  They call from different #'s every day!!

They called me about a half hour ago.  Called the number back and it's the scumbags from the American Institute of Cancer Research.  They have now called me from 10 different phone numbers.  Let's face it, legitimate charities don't operate in this manner.  Every one of those numbers costs them money, so they're just wasting it with this tactic.  Besides, I'm the one who decides what charities I'm going to give to and for various reasons.  But you can be assured that not one of them is a charity that calls continuously - month after month - harassing and annoying people to give!!

I have gotten so many calls from an 800 number which is 855-284-4823. They call daily and I do not answer it. I am so tired of these calls. They never leave a message and just hang up. I feel like putting a block on this number. It will still show up on my caller ID but they can not leave a message. I feel that a legitimate caller would leave a message on my answering machine.

Someone from this number calls several times everyday. We do not answer. They also call the number for our fax machine. How do we make it stop? We're on the Do Not Call List.

Have received several of these calls. Call back identifies them as American Institute for Cancer Research annual campaign for funds  Have blocked this number.

Thank you so much for information instead of ranting about receiving unwanted calls. None of us like it, but ranting and raving on this site doesn't help the situation. All we need here is info on where the call is coming from.

They just use another number to call...

I feel your pain - I have been getting these calls daily and I have not contacted Sears. I HATE SEARS!  :)  However, if you can get a whistle (like a police whistle) try blowing that into the phone as hard as you can.

I consider this to be immature.

You might want to reconsider the whistle.  Many people have tried it and end up with their numbers being made the return call back for the scammer.  This results in hundreds of calls from angry people thinking you are the scammer. It is a no win  stunt.

I remember when these operations used out of service numbers and now they will display any given number.

These dumb [***] won't stop calling me either. We are not fooled at all. Because they have called me last Sunday also. It was the same company with a different number asking for donations. No matter how hard they try. They will keep calling and harassing innocent people.  One of these days someone is going to commit suicide over these harassing calls. They won't ever stop this.  If this continues I will be filing harassment charges with my lawyer. I will find out whoever is calling me and I will beat the living crap out of them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I blocked this area code at least a week ago. They still call daily. It only rings once, but they still think I am a sucker waiting to be had.

I called them; I complained. They said they would investigate, it was not them, not their phone number.

All of you, call them, number 1-800-843-8114; they are big fundraisers. If the a holes that are calling us can be located, I think they will be taken care of. The more calls, the more action.
