15 Oct 2011I received a call from "Breast Cancer Research & Support Fund" to send a $15 donation for breast cancer. When I rec'd the info, the notice said that "Courtesy Call, Inc" was the professional fundraiser at (800) 594-7306. Further research shows that BCRSF is associated with Seven Sisters of Healing (ADDR: 4699 N Federal Hwy 101-H, Pompano Bch-Contact Doug Sailors), which has changed it's name to Community Charity Advancement, also a 501(c)3 org. These are run by Francis P. Ferrer JR (President) (Also president of FF Coppola Services in Ft Lauderdale). -- I found an IRS document which shows that $1.7 million was reported in revenue in 2010, but almost ALL went to EXPENSES. Courtesy Call Inc (located in Las Vegas) rec'd $190k for fundraising.(They raised $220K)-- The SSofH books are kept by F.U.M Management Corp at 1788 Bay Drive, Pompano Bch Fl which is a 3BR, 2bath million dollar condo at Hillsboro Bay by the Sea, owned by Martha Caffersky (thank you Internet). A further search on this address shows Nielsen Media Research at 954-545-0458. I'm betting that all of it is a scam. -- NOTE: the IRS filing shows that they "provided cancer medicine to South America". The form also showed $1.5 million for Drugs and Medicine. -- How is this related to "Cancer Research"? see http://www.communitycharityadvancement.org/Da ... 990report_b.pdf
I THINK THIS IS A SCAM!Caller: Breast Cancer Research or Courtesy Call Inc(fundraiser)

Reply ! - David GrayGot a cold call from them saying I had previously donated (which it turns out I had not), asking for a donation. I asked for their request to be mailed to me. When I got it, I researched and found this site. Also I checked Charity Navigator, which lists neither Breast Cancer Research and Support Fund or Seven Sisters of Healing as legitimate charities. I agree - this seems to be a scam.

- kathy wagnerI received a call asking for donations for the national police and trooper association. I called this number on the paperwork and it was courtesy call inc. They sent me a paper, after I said I would donate 15.00. So before I am going to donate I am investigating for myself using the internet.

- The Corinthian replies to jan| 3 repliesIts interesting that the president of these corps, Fransis Ferrar is also a bartender at Lighthouse Point Yacht & Racquet Club where Mr. Sailors is a member? Something foul going on here!
- alice replies to The Corinthian| 2 repliesJan,
It is unfortunate that you cast judgment because someone is a bar tender. Mr. Ferrer is a graduate from the University of Auburn. His mother died of cancer and his father was a surgon in NY. His association with the devistation of cancer has been a factor in his life. Last year CCA gave grants to:
Lerner Research Inststite
University of Chicago
Seattle Cancer Care Affiance
Georgetown University Medical Center
TCSC Cancer Foundation
The University of Texas/ MD Anderson
UM Comprensive Cancer Facility
Also, 2.3 million in life saving drugs to cancer victims
Just out of curiosity, what did you contribute to any cause last year? For those who are not aware, the CORENTHIANS are a self proclaimed organization that helps no one. May 2012, the yacht club sponcered a Wounded Warriors luncion. The CORENTHIANS donated nothing. In behalf of Disabled Veterans Services, we gave $3500. Jan, I'm glad that you are proud of being a CORENTHIAN. Please share what you or the CORENTHIANS do to help anyone. - RenaI was sucked in with the Breast cancer support pledge, this followed not long after...scam... no legit info on the "Charity" people can be such pigs

- Kim| 1 replyI received a cold call from them and told them I would support them because my mother is a survivor. The person on the other end of the call didn't really care that I was even explaining why I was willing to donate or say something to the affect of I'm glad to hear her cancer is in remission. That sent up a flag. I thought I would research it on the internet before mailing a check. I've done multiple searches on this name and number. A lot of individuals are stating it's a scam. I'm leaning towards the same conclusion just based on the call seemed disingenuine. I'll keep my money and donate to the Susan G. Koman.

- Joy replies to janTHank you so much for this information. We were about to donate. Shame, shame on those that would do such a thing!
- Pat replies to alicehow do you know all this. Where did you get your information.
- stopscamming replies to aliceAccording to their own tax form (2014), posted on their own website, they gave exactly $49,000 TOTAL to various universities out of the over TEN MILLION that they raked in. The rest went to a seemingly phantom "institute" in the Dominican Republic and to "fundraising". Oh, and it appears that the late father of Mr. Ferrer was a quack who preyed upon his female patients by injecting them with multiple inappropriate drugs to "treat" them for their "hormonal disorders"
- Aaron replies to KimKim, I used to donate to Susan G. Koman also because my mother is a survivor and i know several other survivors. Then i started researching where all the money goes for Susan G Koman. Do you know the president of the organization (non-profit) makes over 800,000 dollars a year. That's 3 times more than the CEO of Red Cross, and Red Cross takes in a hundred times more money than Susan G Koman. And most of the money doesn't even got to cancer research if thats your impression. some money goes to try and "educate" woman to get exams. Doesn't take much money to do that. the Susan Koman organization is almost considered another Scam these days when you really find out where the hard earned donation dollar goes.
- Brad| 2 repliesDoes anybody know how legit the American Disabled Veterans Foundation associated with the phone number 855-284-6749 is? When I tried to enter their posted website, www.amvetsfd.com, I got a big red Google warning page pop up warning me that attackers might be trying to steal my passwords, messages, or credit card information. They first contacted me at the above number and I verbally agreed to donate $50.00. Once I received information in the mail, I tried to pay via the on line site listed at the bottom of the backside of their pledge form when I got the Google warning message.

There are over 100+ 'similar' named charities at Charity navigator, but none under the name you gave with an IRS clearance. When you want to give to charity - Give Local! - DeeCalled my husband last week they stated they are raising money for veterans.I knew it was a scam. Can't trust these calls anymore. He said he would pledge 35 dollars. We received the envelope today, something wasn't right, the name on the Envelope was different. I knew it was a scam. Called the charity that raises money for vets. And got the real address to donate to. Told the woman about what i received and the address, she said...she Doesn't know who they are. Bunch crooks.

- Spencer StewartI received a call from a woman who said the she represented Breast Cancer Research & Support Fund and a donation of $15.00 would help their cause to find a cure for Breast Cancer. I agreed to a pledge of $15 and this was on 5/27/16. On 8/6/2016 I received a letter to pay my donation. There was also a box to add an additional $2.00 to my pledge. I checked 800notes.com and found out it is a fraud,
