This company called me, I found them on the web(http://probit.ca/) and they have an area where you can register your number on their own internal Do Not Call List.  I sent my number their, now we will wait to see what happens.

I love my Android with the built in call block.  These illegal law breaking deadbeats can go bug YOU now instead of me  - if you don't have call block.  Android will put these creeps out of business.

Called my cell TWICE today while I'm at work - which is infuriating, as they've called my home number before (my cell is Unlisted).  First call was a beep (not a fax machine) then dead air, then it disconnected.

Second call was a pre-recorded voice saying they were 'Probit, calling on behalf of Ekos Research' for a 2-minute survey about Healthcare.  Which is weird because Ekos is a well-known research company that does its OWN surveys and polls.  Then the voice proceeding to say 'participating to the end would put me in for a $200 draw' - which is a load of B.S.; legit survey companies do NOT pay incentives when calling the public!  I tried for 'Operator' or 'zero-out' but could not reach a real person - so I hung up.

Thanks posters - under Canada's Do Not Call Registry, real survey companies may call to opinon-poll the taxpaying public (and its in YOUR best interest to provide your feedback) but you do NOT have to go to some 3rd party website to be removed from a list - they have the capacity to do it then and there.  And there's no reason for them to be calling an unlisted cell number.

Too fishy for me - so I'm reporting it to the Registry and the RCMP's anti-fraud unit (info@antifraud.ca), just in case.

this is the newest along with 3 other numbers to call my cell.
this is getting redicoulous! We all have to band together and complain to our servious providers and let them know this is not acceptable and if it continues we will change service providers because it is only going to get worse if we let it!!!

This number called my cell phone and of course I answered, assuming it was Bell or someone of the sorts. Automated message saying if you want your self removed to go on www.probit.ca then click Probit called me. You'll have to enter your phone number(s) to be placed on the "Do not call" list

This discussion board doesn't have a call list!!!   Inform your caller to do so.   This board is for discussion of unknown callers and the exchange of information only.

Re: Blocking calls. Panasonic makes a phone with built-in call blocking but it only holds 30 calls. I purchased a unit called Call Valet that holds 200. (I'm up to 75). There are others available so shop around. Also check with your service provider. Some offer a blocking service at what appears to be a modest fee. They might offer the service for cell phones too.
The thing I like about mine is the red light that turns on when a recorded blocked call is received. When working in the shop we don't have to drop what we're doing to check call display. Just look at the box light.
