I received a call from 855-290-2410 threatening to take me to civil court for a Payday loan that I do not owe. He had information about me and said he was from HB & associates. Does anyone know anything about this agency? I believe its the same as Hartman & Becker which is a scam.

Just received a call yesterday, they said the same thing to me!  Ive never taken a Payday loan.  I believe this is a scam as well.  If you find out anything let me know.  I will do the same.

My original phone call was from a 490-336-4985, claiming to be from the civil division (?) and stated they have been trying to serve me with papers and gave me the 855-290-2410 with a case number to call. I did and they told me it was from a personal cash advance loan I defaulted on. Can't default on a loan I #1 never applied for and #2 never received any deposits for $500. I've tried googling both numbers and can't find anything on either numbers. None of this makes sense but they know all my personal information, banking information (which is an old account, thank goodness)...even my driver's license number! Now trying to say it's in the amount of $1,474. Supposedly a Portfolio Recovery sent it to them. But I haven't received any form of a letter, phone call, email, no form of communication stating I owed them money and suddenly I'm being sued?! Smells a bit fishy to me.

I just got a call from the same number yes it's  a scam.

Thanks! I figured that out yesterday after verifying with my bank that no such deposit existed. I called the FTC to file a complaint, they transferred me to consumer finance found at consumerfinance.gov. I recommend any one who gets phone calls from these scumbags to report them.

kept getting a call from 470-336-4985 they even called my husband. i answered today and it was lady saying i was being served papers tomorrow between 9-4 and i told them i would not be home. i was given the # 855-290-2410 to call and a case # as well. i searched the number before calling and came across this thread. glad i did not call.

they keep calling me, 5 days straight, threatening me with collection, always different person, no matter what I do I cant get them to stop calling me.

Then call me about the same time so how can we put these and I will not get scammed

They called my house yesterday, nerved my mom & grandma all up talkin bout serving papers and garnshing my paycheck so i called back this morning and no one answered the phone sounds like a scam

The same exact thing JUST HAPPENED to me that happened to you!! The caller made sure I knew His name was "Zack Boyner"  so Im going to go the reporting link and make sure they have his name too! :-)

I just got the same call first from 470-336-4985. Then they said I had to call 855-290-2410 to get the information about the case # they gave me I freaked out on them yelling about a lawyer and they hung up on me.. I never took out a loan but they did know way to much  information about me who are these people the first guy I talked to from the 470# was Zach towing about a cival procedure    and suggestions

I got a call from this number saying i owe money and they had a case number i googled this number its a scam i also called a lawyer about this..

I just got a call from a number, 470*336*4985 saying they are from a civil division and have papers to serve to me but I can call 855-290-2410 with a case number to find out what it is, number one, who calls you to tell you that you will be served papers, don't they just serve you????  I believe this is a scam and I am not calling either.

These people called my cell.  I didn't answer.  They then called my parents house.  My brother took a message with an 855 number to call and a case number.  I called.  First time I was put on hold for 10 minutes and hung up.  They called my cell again two days later.  Called back, talked to someone asking if I'd been served a summons, pay day loan, owe over $1000, etc.  I told him that I knew nothing about a PayDay loan and if one was taken out in my name I would be happy to file a police report and send it over to them.  I had every intention of doing so but when I called the non-emergency police line they asked if I was sure that the PayDay loan was a scam or if the "lawyer" phone call was a scam.  So I googled and found this.

I then called them back to ask the questions listed here.  Woman who answered said "Hartman and Associates".  I explain to the woman that I want information as I've been advised its a possible scam.  She says its not a scam and they'd be happy to answer my questions.  She then put me on hold for 20 minutes and I wound up hanging up after 20 minutes.

I got a call at my house which my mother answered since i am at work in which she told them they say where trying to serve me summons papers so she called me with this number to call and case number so i did and talked to john franco and worked out a settlement payment to come out fri april 1 now i do believe this is a scam and also THEY DONT CALL YOU AND TELL YOU U GETTING SERVED A SUMMONS

Did you give the scammer your bank account or credit card number?  If you did you need to call your bank RIGHT THIS SECOND and stop the payments.  The phone number is on the statement or on the back of the card,

Make the call NOW.  The scammers are already busy spending your money.

Received a call yesterday & wife got a call on her cell # today saying it is a message #.  How do they know that?  Called the police who said they couldn't do anything.  Will call the FBI next.  I have received these scam calls before saying I took out a payday loan.  Since I am self-employed I don't have a regular payday & couldn't have even gotten this type of loan.  Why would I anyway when I can get one from the bank??  Wonder how many people they have actually gotten away with this scam on...

Called another family member trying to get our elder father's information.  He's never taken out a loan or even have any credit cards. Total Scam!!!!
