A person claiming to be roger mitchell is calling and saying I need to send money immediately for a payday loan between 200 & 300$. I asked for specific info, or for him to mail something to me and he refused. I told him if hes trying to collect a debt he needs to send something with more info (date, place, amount, ect). He said this is not a debt, it is theft and it is a felony. He said they are trying to find me and I will be taken to jail. When I called back the answering system said the company name, Providence.

Same thing here called my mother in law looking for my husband gave a doct# and and said there would be a in his name given to him in public and or at his work ? when called back got the same thing providence he left his name Michael Archie ?

"Ashley Miller" from this "company" has been calling around to several of my family members trying to get my personal information (SSN, Birthday, Address, Phone numbers...etc) telling them that she is gathering pre-trial information. She tells them that I am being charged with fraudulent activity and a breach of contract for services I've NEVER had. I called 855-294-3547 x 312, It hangs up. I spoke to an "agent" who says he works for "PROVIDENCE LEGAL" his name was michael, this is a TOTAL SCAM!!! He played games when I asked him for further information, says that their company does not make outbound calls.... He tried to tell me I was a joke because there is no "ashley" there... Call the police! I did, and I put a flag on my credit....

I also have gotten several calls from this number.  Exactly the same thing said as that Kara has said above.  Only problem, I have no idea who the person is that they are looking for.  We have the same last name, but not the first.  I think they are hunting.  Because of the way I have my number listed, they are just calling possible numbers.  Very frustrating.  This is not the only "collection agency" that has called looking for this person.  Very annoying, especially when I pay my bills and find these kinds of calls rude beyond words.

i also got a call from providence legal where this ashley banks lady called left a message. I call back to an 888 number and set up a payment plan like a dumbass. The next payment was scheduled to go through but i didnt have the funds so i tried that number to call back and it said sorry this number is not set up to take calls. i tried for a week. then i canceled my card. Now Im getting calls at my job from an Ryan Robb from providence legal and they have changed their number... What the hell is going on? I was informed that i would be served with court papers at my home or place of employement. Who else thinks this is a scam? I sure as hell do

I had the same thing from a new number now its 855-294-3552 and they are calling them selves the DA Group. I searched the internet for them and there is no information for the number to call back. They called my father in law and scared him thinking that I am going to jail and the whole thing is a scam. What a thing to do to a 65 year old man. Dont take there crap call and report them. It is an automatic dialer that they are calling from and can change the last four numbers of the phone number at any time to trick people.

Dont fall for it.

I just received a call from the same number at my job.  His name is Pat Martin.  He told my boss that he would hate to have to serve papers to my job.  The thing is how did he get my employment address.  He also call my friend.  Why doesn't he call me.  I have no idea who this is and why he is calling me.

.in march of 2011 my family members started to recieve phone calls about a collection agency looking to get in contact with me. they call my grandma,my two aunts,my uncle,and also my mothers ex husband who had no relation to me whats so ever.they left voicemails on their answering machine when they did not answer. my aunt called me and let me listen to the voicemai; it stated that if i  did not get into contact with them legal action will be taken,i could have fine triple the amount of the loan or face jail time. i asked them to send me paper work to look over,gave them my current address but they never sent it. then in march 2012 my family members started to yet again get phone calls for a collection agency claiming to be named the BA Group and a man named Mike Loretto ext 9001,so i called the collection agency again and this time i set up a payment plan to make 4 payments bi weekly of the amount of $155.38 to payoff the total amount of the loan of $601.55 for account . i set it up so the payments would be directly taken out of my checking account payments where set up to be taken out of my account on the following dates; march 26th 2012,april 9th 2012,april 23rd 2012,and may 7th 2012. On may 29th 2012 i spoke with my mother who had heard of this website to report scams,before i went on there to report i did some research of my own. i looked up BA Group on an internet search and nothing came up,so i put the phone number 18552943552 into a search and sure enough this page came up with people telling their stories of being scammed by the same group in the same exact way i have been scammed. So after reading all the stories i called my bank,the payment was not even taken out by the BA Group but it was taken out by Educational Comp. located at 399 E.Livingston Ave,Columbus, OH,i then went up to my bank and closed my account. I called back the phone number 18552943552 to get the mailing address of this so called BA Group the man said that he was transfering me to the legal department,I was on hold for 10 minutes and then the line was disconnected. i feel absolutely taken advantage of,i dont have money to just throw away and i fell for the scam

Got a call looking for my BIL.  Said it was suspicous and fraudulent activity on one of his accounts and that my name was on it and they had evidence and documents that would be submitted to the county of his residence if I did not get him to call them back.  He also stated that he would most likely be served at work.

WTH!!  They gave him bank account info to transfer a payment tonight...must be received tonight.   Really?  Like we are going to "transfer" money to anyone we don't know.

Providance called my mother and father saying I have suspicion activity on my bank accounts and gave me. Ref # and [***] so I called gave no info at all just asked whAt kind of company they were, they said they were a mediation and lidigation company and when I asked what do you mediate I was hung up on hen I received 6 more calls from a 865-6696 # but when answered it was a dial tone. I got the original call from 877-818-1573 . Don't trust them don't give them anything

I received a message from PROVIDENCE LEGAL saying that my wife was going to be served with papers for writing a fraudulent check.   The call sounds very official and legit.  What tipped me off other than knowing my wife did not write any bad checks was that they used her nickname instead of her legal name that she uses to sign checks.  I think they got our names from an obituary of my recently passed father which listed my wife's nickname.  The person who called said her name was Connie Fitzpatrick and gave a call back number of 855-370-9512 ext. 311.  When I called to give them hell for trying to scam me I always got a message that they were busy on another phone call.  Anyway there scam seems very legit and they
use scare tactics that sounds like you are going to be arrested in the next couple of days if you don't call.  THIS IS A SCAM.  DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION WHATSOEVER!  I contacted my state's attorney general's office, but they said there is not much they can do and suggested I file a complaint with the FCC.

Same as the above.  Threatens to send you to jail; refuses to give you any info on the so called debt you supposedly owe; want personal info like bank # and SS#.  They are fishing for info, so they can steal your money and accusing you of being a fraud.  Who is the real fraud.  DO NOT pay them any money or give them any information.  SCAM

I received a phone call, just today indicating that I need to return a call to 1-855-678-0743, claiming to be Provident.  Same as all of the other complaints listed on here.  Didn't have any information on the debt that I allegedly owe.  I think that this is a fraud.    Please note the phone number is different from the one listed above, but i am confident that this is the same company.  I was asked to dial ext. 312.
