I am fairly sure this call was from AAA.   I had to have my car towed this afternoon, and I didn't recognize this number on my phone, but it's the only one that makes sense from that time of day.  I'm guessing it's one of those numbers that doesn't accept incoming calls.

I called AAA for a tow. I was told a time of an hour from my phone call. I was not at the vehicle, but on my way about 1/2 hour before my pick up time, I got a call from this number saying it was an automated call saying what tow company was coming and estimated time, which I found strange because this area is pretty much designated to one company. In the meantime, I had to go back for my keys. This time I was about 20 minutes away from the estimated time. On my way to meet or wait for the AAA driver - I passed my vehicle on a wrecker, not a flatbed as requested and it was not the company that the automated message said it would be.

Be aware- usually a tow truck driver will call you in person to let you know how far out they are.

Is your complaint that you did not know who called you, or is your complaint that somebody stole your car?

Slim AAA has a strict policy where they will not tow the car unless the member is present.

So, if we re-read the OP's statement, " On my way to meet or wait for the AAA driver - I passed my vehicle on a wrecker, not a flatbed as requested and it was not the company that the automated message said it would be", either it was not AAA, or the car was stolen, or the OP merely enjoyed telling a tale.
