formal documents? lol, yeah right. if anyone calls you and tells you this, they're lying through their teeth. that is all.

This company keeps calling saying they r taking me to court and when I call back it's always an answering machine saying you have reached administration. I think they r trying to scam me

Just received a call today and a message telling me that they are sending someone outhe to serbe me. I called the number back and got an answering machine that said administration. I also think a scam.

The weird thing is that they called my sis. To deliver me a msg so I called and its supposed to be some law offices haha with kids jumping around in that background?

Is this something to be concerned about? Have they followed up with anyone or sent anyone to your home or employer? They said they would be sending someone to my formal residence or my employer to serve documents this week & gave me an account # that included my state abbreviation in the #. It freaked me out a little bit.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.

Some Tips:
*Keep all messages
*Take a picture of your Caller ID
*Keep any and all conversations recorded to your states recording laws, some require they be told, others do not. This can be transferred to a recording device.
*Keep a notebook handy for writing time,date, who you spoke with and what the conversation detailed.
*Check your SOL for your state as well.
*Attorneys need to be licensed as a DC to collect, all DC's must be licensed in their state as well as yours if different.

Some sort of call center.  Guy I talked to calls his office:  "document services" and says he's a "dispatcher".   Dispatcher of nothing, if you ask me.

Except scammery.

Says he's in Los Angeles but will not give out an address.

Most likely some garden-variety debt scamming operation.  Ignore and block.

This is debt scamming operation.  No legitimate process server notifies you in advance they are coming by.

Just because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  DIME  until the debt is validated.

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply block their calls and ignore them.

If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money,  tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  You might have to yell at the scammer and talk over him or her.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.  If you can find them.   They say they are in Los Angeles, but no body knows for sure.

Liars! They are NOT going to take anyone to court! they basically threaten you and if you refuse to pay, they delete your account on their system and don't bother you again. Don't give them any cc information. Hell, the man I spoke with said he was going to transfer me to his ''supervisor'', and I guess he forgot to press the hold button, because I could hear him speaking to his other scammers!
