I just got a message on my computer saying it was blocked and to call this number for help.So I did and a Asian sounding man answered the phone.He told me my whole network was in harm's way for hackers.He then took over my laptop and was typing and opening and closing windows.I wasn't even touching my PC.Then after about a hour,he started asking me for personal information and talking about payment arrangements.I just need to know what to do now.Please help.

Should not go with it.

If you receive ever such types of then hang up because Microsoft or any genuine tech. company never called his customer. They will contact through an-mail.

caller said he was calling Microsoft and he needed to scan my computer. I needed to give him access to computer press the windows button and hold then press the r button then type something in the window that will give him access to look at everything on the computer. Showed me where all the bad things that was wrong. It would only coast me $200.00 for a anti virus program that would cover all my computers for 3 years just give my information. I said no thank you. Told me I could call him back in the morning form nine till six if I was to change my mind.

Computer scammers love to use the Error reports as a way to convince their victims they need protection from them.

What they do is give you instructions to open the Event Viewer to show you a list of typical system Error Report logs, then tell you they can fix all them. Its a normal process on any computer to have multiple programs "fighting" for resources on start-ups and those are error reports for every program that "bumps heads" with another program when running at the exact same time, only one at a time is going to start, even if it all happens in the blink of an eye .Each "bump" of programs will cause an error, because they both can't use the same bit of memory , so one has to use a different bit.  Its how developers get data on how programs interact on start-up and with other programs using the same resources and they can improve on them from those Error Reports.

Scammers trick people who don't know how computers work, to believe theres a lot of problems on their computer, when its all normal activity and nothing to be concerned about. Its normal to see hundreds of thousands of reports in the Event Viewer logs.

Same scam-- told that my computer was being hacked.  Don't have a computer but strung him along for a while..  Bahahahahahaha on him!
