This is an obvious scam and I don't know who can help me arrest these people who scam people by making worrisome pressure to get people to pay them, which is illegal I hope it's a felony!

Report them yourself.  We didn't get the call, you did.

First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

left msg for someone else that a formal complaint was and authorities would be contacted. I called the number back they indicated their company was GAFM but would not tell me what type of business they were. I informed them I was not the person they were looking for and that they were also breaking laws if they were a debt collector by leaving a message

I also received a call from 855-303-5749. It sounded like a voice over and he said his name was Mark Wallace. He said that there was a formal complaint that's been filed against Mark or Marti Signage. He said next step was to contact the local authority.

IGNORE THE CALLS!!! IT'S A SCAM!!!

Don't fall for this scam! This number called me and left a shady sounding message with an obvious affect added to the the voice to either disguise it or make it sound intimidating.  They stated that there has been a complaint filed against my wife. They also threatened to report her to to local authorities.

My wife was receiving calls like this a couple of years ago. They threaten to report you to local authorities, to report you to your job, to show up at your job, etc. They want you to give them all types of personal information but when you ask them what addresses and other information of yours they have on file they can never give you an answer.

It is a scam they have called my sister in-law my mother-in-law and my house phone and said there was a formal complaint filed against me and a warrant for my arrest was filed on me  so it is. A big scam if there was a warrant for my arrest I would be in jail the sheriff would come and pick me up

Police are concerned with threats to lives and public safety. Police are not in the business of debt collection. They don't want another job chasing unproven penny-ante debts. Consumer debt in America is not a criminal matter and collector claims are not typically sent straight to a judge. Lawful debt collection is a process, not an ambush, and you are due a chance at each stage to raise a dispute.

Before we get any more wooly thinking about your rights and options, let's point to the correct Federal law and the industry's primary regulators.

Fair Debt Collection Practices Act - FTC
    CFPB Q&A on the FDCPA
    FTC alert: "Fake Debt Collectors"
CFPB Q&A: Can a debt collection agency try to have me arrested over a debt collection?
CFPB Q&A: Can a debt collector try to deceive me to collect on a debt?

The infamous  “Coastal” or CFS scam.  No idea where they are located.  Call from a variety of numbers for several years now. Ignore and block any calls received from this “Coastal” group. Sometimes uses the CID of “Coastal Litigation” or Coastal Pre-litigations.  And Gawd knows how many other names.

Mark Wallace is a current debt scamming persona for this “CFS”.

Also their current favorite phrase is “refer matter to the authorities” which is a load of nonsense.

    Report them:

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening civil proceedings with no intent to follow through, or threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a  violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.) As is endless harassing calls.

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

    1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
    2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
    3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they are bothering you, report them:

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening civil proceedings with no intent to follow through, or threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a  violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.)  The same goes for endless telephone harassment

Note that the US Supreme Court in the Case of HENSON ET AL. v. SANTANDER CONSUMER USA INC., has recently ruled that the provisions of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act do not apply if the creditor owns the debt in question.  As a practical matter this probably won't effect the kinds of scam debt collectors who often show up on 800notes.  The scam collectors don't give you any information about themselves so it is impossible to know whether or not they in fact "own" the debt in question.  Most do not send debt validation letters and many often say they are collecting for someone else.  So, make the complaint anyway if they are bothering you.  Let the FTC sort it out.

Also contact your local attorney general

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.  Tell 'em  no scammy debt collector is going to push you around.

You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking).   the only thing they understand.
