Free Reverse Phone lookup should be arrested for fraud. No way is anything free with those people. Don't bother cllicking on the link and NEVER do business with frauds.

I presently have a Frontier land line. I pay them $9.99 per month for caller ID. Then they have the brass balls to call me with a "Unknown name". Come Monday i am calling them to drop my service.

Don't blame Frontier for the "Unknown name" caller ID.  They can only pass what the caller is providing in the caller info stream. You need to call your congressman to complain about the spam calls.
I also have Frontier and the Caller ID is so that I can screen which calls to answer.  Without it you'll end up answering those calls.

Whoever is calling calls at least three times a day - doesn't stop until after 9:p.m.  Sometimes they call once and then immediately call right back.  I don't answer - have called ID and if I don't know who it is, I don't answer.  They never leave a message - just a click.

I got one of these this morning, the woman told me they were from Frontier, her call quality on her end sounded like she was in a tunnel. She blathered on about free stuff and promotions and then asked for my account info. I told her I was not interested. She asked me why I wasn't interested. I told her I was happy with what I had and I was old fashioned but she again asked for my account info. I told her "no thank you". THEN she keeps right on trucking and says she has talked to other Frontier customers who said they are happy with the upgrades and can she have my account info. Again, no interested. Finally got her to close her donut hole and leave me alone.

This post has two parts.  The =second= is for people who are interested in the realities of the Do Not Call list.  The =first= is for people who have difficulty understanding long explanations, but think the DNC list does not work.

    1)
The DNC list is not a magic switch attached to your phone line, that will block calls.

The DNC list is intended to help stop calls originating from legitimate telemarketers.
    * Your calls were not from legitimate telemarketers.
    * Therefore, the DNC list will not stop those calls.

    2)
The DNC list does not automatically block calls.  Instead, it provides a list of  "do not call" phone numbers to legitimate, registered telemarketers who pay a fee for the list.

The DNC list exempts political callers, survey organizations,  charities, and companies with preexisting business relationships, as well as debt collectors, but these organizations might have their own, internal Do Not Call list (ask them).

The DNC list is not effective against criminals, spammers and scammers, because those people do not subscribe to the DNC list, and do not care if you are on or off that list.
Its purpose is to stop calls from legitimate telemarketers, and it does a pretty good job at that.  Just think ... if there were no DNC, you would be receiving incessant calls from BOTH legitimate and scam telemarketing callers!

    Here is your reading assignment:
    https://www.donotcall.gov/
    http://www.ftc.gov/news-events/media-resource ... try/enforcement
    http://www.ftc.gov/news-events/press-releases ... lemarketers-pay

Remember, the FCC's Do Not Call site is a good one to report unwanted calls from LEGITIMATE telemarketers.   To report spammers and scammers, visit the FTC site, at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/

If you receive calls even after reporting them (and waiting a sufficient time), then you should consider using a call blocker app, device or service as your first line of defense.  Google "call blocker" to see such things at Amazon or other sites.

    Jim S.
Received a call today at 12:53pm
No message left on answering machine.
If this were a valid call, why not leave a message?

So, I pay my phone company (Frontier) to provide Caller Name and Number.
I could also pay them to block a limited number of calls (which I did for a while).

I know I could also buy a call Blocker from Amazon, but why should I?
The FCC should just plain outlaw this type of call.or at least make them provide a valid name and number.

Just because the caller says they are from Frontier, doesn't mean they really are.
The Caller Name and Number info shown can be spoofed.
I just don't answer if the name/number is unknown to me.

I've received several call/hang-ups as well.  After reading your post, seems strange that Frontier wouldn't already have your account number, as they should be looking at your info to generate the call.  I'm wondering if it's something more sinister, like a phishing scam.  Thanks for the heads up.
