received a letter with the phone number 855-315-9287.  Offering mortgage assistance.  Misleading affiliation to making homes affordable logo.  Tried to verify number to be legitimate  no listing and number does not exist.  Called number was immediately put into recorded message .  No one picked up the phone to identify the business

basically they are looking for people late on their mortgage payments to outsource you to attorneys or lenders. They use the Making home affordable logo but they have no affiliation with them and it REALLY is quite misleading because that is a government nonprofit program. They get paid by the people they refer you to (finders fee).

I received this card last night, we are behind on our mortgage thought this was going to help but now reading the reviews this is one for the shredder! I'll look for a real assistance program!

Me too...this is so sad,especially when your sitting here going thru foreclosure and nowhere to turn :(

WHAT CRUELTY.

Any communication received by US mail which appears fraudulent should be taken down to the post office so that the postal inspectors can take a look at it.  This could be mail fraud.
