Someone called from a noisy call center environment, claimed he was calling from AT&T. He hung up after I returned a greeting (it is my opinion that the scammers do that if the person does not sound like a target, ie, they want a female or an elderly person)

Caller ID showed "Cash Cow Income Property" but the person calling with horrible grammar and difficult to understand accent pretended to be with DirecTV.

I got a text from this number stating, "You are scum.  Hopefully you get hit by a bus soon and die  slow and painfully"  I guess they were fishing for a reply.  Either way I thought that it was pretty funny.

This number showed up as an ad when looking at my yahoo email from Dish (to the right of the email). said it is connected to Dish. I dialed phone number, it said welcome to dish and would I take a survey while waiting for help. Asked about vacation destinations, then hung up after I answered. Now, I have no idea who it was that I called.

Noisy call center. Caller had foreign accent. Said his name and that he worked for Beechnut Satellite Service. After asking him to repeat, he question If I had their service. I replied, No. he apologized and hung up. Seemed odd call since i’ve use rabbit ears. Marked as telemarketer but suspect scam.

No outside calls wanted.  I have registered this week to the"Do not call list".  The person (company) who called did not check the national "Do not call list". I do not want calls from companies like this!

Maybe it's not a telemarketer calling. You didb read what the DNC list does & doesn't cover when you signed up for it, right?

855 is a toll free number.  Since you did not call it (and even if you had) you would not have been charged, so how is this a

Sounds like a lure to get you to sign up for a time share using Dish TV as bait.
That would make it a telemarketer, but the deception pushes it to "Suspected Scam."

1 - Scammers don’t care if you don’t want their calls.
2 - Scammers don’t care if you’re on the DoNotCall List.
3 - Scammers don’t care if their calls make you mad.
4 - Scammers don’t care if their “Scam” is against the law.

And websites like this one can’t fix that.

SPOOFED CALLER ID SCAM:

A disguised Caller ID used as a ploy to make you curious enough to answer the call or to call them back, and if you do, you can instantly become a victim of their scam in 3 ways.

1 - Even though the call appears to be a U.S. area code, the criminals often use “Caller ID Spoofing” to falsify the information transmitted to your caller ID display to hide their identity, and to trick you into believing they called from a U.S. number.  If you’re not careful enough and you return the call, you’ll be connected to a phone number outside the United States. And later, charged expensive international call rates.

2 - Once you have responded to the scam call (by answering it or calling them back), you are confirming your telephone number is active, which automatically places you on hundreds of Robocaller dialing lists and immediately increases unwanted calls to your phone.

3 - Worst case scenario is, that you will believe it’s a legitimate call from a real company to do business with, so that you’ll be fooled into giving them personal information, and they will steal your identity and/or finances.

855-318-0572 just called my cell.  I never answer an unknown nr and block or erase it if they leave no msg.  Anyone who really wants to speak to you will leave a msg.  Erase, block, or ignore.  Whatever makes u feel better. I usually ignore unless they call back a second time from the same nr--then, I block.  13 June 2020.

said were from dish had to pay $400.00 for new satalite or would lose my receiver ha ha on them!  Then called back on a local area code!
