I would appreciate a little more info from Paul
it is a scam trying to loan you up to 50,000 call and give your info and you will have your money in 24 hours - Becky| 1 replyA man with an accent claims to be with computer technical service and says a report has been received that I am having a problem with my computer.
Told him my computer had been shut off for two weeks, no problems, take my phone number out of his system and hung up on him.
Not the first time i have gotten a call like this.
Blocked the phone number from calling me. - CF replies to BeckyThese guys are FRAUDS .. don't fall for their trick.
They've called me a couple times now saying that they have received an error report from my computer (although they can't tell me which one) that I sent to Microsoft (I never do this) and then MS sent to them. I'm far from novice when it comes to my computer so out of curiosity I went along with it to see what they were going to have me do. They had me try to delete things from my event log (which you can't do they were having me try) and then they had me look at my processes and showed me that some were stopped (of course they are .. not all need to be running). These two things were 'problems' and they then tried to have me go to a website (I wish I could remember the name) so they could log into my computer and do who knows what. That's where I stopped and started asking questions .. they eventually hung up on me :) .
They just called back again and I started going along with them, but asking more questions up front. The 'supervisor' got on and told me I was 'testing his patients', lol, and he eventually hung up on me too since he couldn't answer my questions. He said he was with a company called TechGig and was they were a 'microsoft certified company' and that MS has sent them my err log file. That's BS!
Don't fall for their trick. Nobody should be soliciting to you to touch you computer - pennyJust received a call, obviously from India, also saying that my computer was having technical problems. Told them that if they called this number again I would be turning them in and hung up
- WilliamThey called me too and I played along. After telling me my computer had an issue (Same as CF's notes) they bumped me up to a senior level technician (scammers are so kind!). He asked me to sign on to ammyy.com and follow his prompts so that he could look at my computer.
At that point I told him I did not have a computer and hung up.
Do they really think these scams will work???? - TomJust called these idiots back. They told me they are based in Austin, Texas (right and I'm the governor of Texas). I told them what "error" they detected. When I told them I had a Mac, they had no idea what I was talking about. By the way, they are going under the name Tech Geeks.

- LisaLike Becky's report, a woman with an accent claimed to be with computer technical service, said a report has been received that I am having a problem with my computer. I asked the company name, but her accent was so bad I couldn't understand it, but it sounded like she said an undeciperable name and then "Geeks" & then she asked if I'm in front of my computer.
I told her I don't know if this is some kind of scam (&she interrupted insisting it is not a scam), but I told her I'm on the Do Not Call list & asked her to remove me from their list & hung up. I don't know if it's a scam or a telemarketer...but even if it's a telemarketer, I still view it as a scam since I'm on the Do Not Call List so it's illegal for them to call anyway. Blocked!- Caller: CID said Toll Free Call
- Lisa| 1 replyAfter posting my last comment, I want to report that another friend who is a computer whiz said this same number called & said they received an error report from my computer (although they can't specify the error or code) that was sent to Microsoft and then MS sent to them...but my friend never sends those error reports to MS. So out of curiosity she went along with it to see what they were going to have her do. After a couple of BS checks, they eventually tried to have her go to a website (she couldn't remember the URL) so they could log into her computer and do who knows what. That's when she stopped and started asking questions...& they eventually hung up on her. The caller said she was with a company called TechGig and they were a 'microsoft certified company' and that MS has sent them the error log file. BS! Don't fall for their trick. Nobody should be soliciting to you to touch your computer, log onto your PC, or give them any sensitive info like credit cards, social security #, passwords, etc.

- Mike-in-MD replies to LisaIndeed they are a scam and Microsoft has warnings about this type of scam on their website:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/security/online-privacy/avoid-phone-scams.aspx
Microsoft does not cold call and does not refer users to any third parties without the user's permission or knowledge. - CCPretty much the same as above. The guy must have been upset with me or didn't remember he had called several times. But the first day this week (calls started on occasion ~ 6 months ago) I pretended to go to his website which is a mentioned above by another ...I believe ammyy.com. He waited. I told him it said, "B" ... "O" ... "L"... "O"... "G"... "N".. "A". About part way through the spelling I thought I heard him emit a sound of confusion. Anyway, I hung up. He called back! Asked if I was "foolin him". Then I let loose a little and said yes, and that he was full of bologna , it was a scam & that my computer was just worked on, to quit calling and get a real job!! I looked at caller ID & I have 5 calls from that # on Monday, 3 on Tuesday & 2 Wednesday. We answered another time or two. Last time I talked to this man (goes by Mac or Max, then yesterday said he was Ron Anderson) with the Asian accent from "Tech Geeks" I told him I would report him to someone because he was now harassing me. What do they want at this point I wonder. I obviously let him know in no uncertain terms that I knew it was a scam when he called on Monday. I thought maybe he was aggravated and just wanted to aggravate me?? Anyone else get all these calls in a row?
- Caller: Tech Geeks...supposedly

- BUCKEYEReceived several calls from 855-323-7442 by a heavy accented male who was calling about my computer problem, his English was very poor. I thanked him and told him to have a nice day with his scam. He said that it was not a scam, I hung up.
- lawyer's wifeReceived 3 calls from the a man from India and could hardly understand a word he said other that he was computer tech and was informed we had computer problems. I told him "no, that we were not having computer problems," and hung up. He called back 2 more times. Jerk.
