I suggest you contact your bank and let them know their was a fraudulent charge. They should be able to get your money back for you.

Freaking out after reading all these comments. My husband received a phone call from Foster and Monroe saying there was a case pending on him. By the way it's a different # then what's listed on here. He was being sued by Roger 's Jeweler's a debt that we do owe. If we didn't put 25% down now and pay off monthly they would take him to court and we would owe then 3 grand for all attorney fees. Because we knew we owed this debt we thought this was legit. We have a scheduled payment to come out this Friday with them. How can I stop this??? In my gut I knew something wasn't right but they got us.

File fraud with your bank and/or CC holder. One important thing to remember if these losers have any of your personal information such as your social security number, date of birth or drivers license make sure you register with identity protection notify the credit agencies as well as your banks!!

To Jack, Mathew and Phillip!!!!!!T his company called me and my Mom for a debt of my brothers... I called them back (they called from two different area codes and numbers). A different person answers the phone each time. You ask them questions and they fumble their words.  They don't correspond w/people via mail, only fax and email!!!  Not everyone has email and a fax machine!!!!!  They transfer you w/o telling you why or to who.  SCAM, SCAM, SCAM.  What a shame to take money of innocent people!!!!!  Mathew couldn't even answer my question: "Is this a Law Firm"  I work at a Law Firm and can answer that question w/o hesitation!!!!!

Same thing just happened to me and my husband. A guy named Phillip called and said we owe money towards a Jewelers which we do but kept mixing up his words a lot. And we got scared and got suckered into it and gave him our card info and all. So I immediately called the customer service to the Jewelers where we owe money too and she couldn't link any info to the law firm so she told me to call and have my bank card shut off immediately which I did! We are so upset they we actually got scared into doing this! Something needs to be done.

4. The name of the attorney who filed the lawsuit

You humiliated me by calling my boyfriends family but I got my revenge. I called you today.  I recorded our very shady conversation and I called the police! They said they'd do their own digging and said they were proud of me for reporting you! I also reported you to the better business bureau AND reported you to all our local news stations with the recorded conversation and your awful voicemails. They'll be posting a new SCAM ALERT FOR FOSTER AND MONROE. So suck on that for a minute you fraudulent monster!

There is an alert on Foster and Monroe

BBB has seen a major increase in collection agencies setting up businesses in the Upstate New York area over the past several years.  In an effort to keep consumers informed about which collection agencies are operating in accordance with Federal Law,  we are asking for specific information from all collection agencies operating in our service area.  The requests includes the following:

:Federal Employee Identification Number-EIN
:Proof Of Licensing, bonding and or registration by the city, town in which your business is located.
:Proof of licensing required by any state in which you operate by mail or telephone or email.

This collection agency has not responded to our requests.

BBB advises consumers to be aware of their legal rights in regard to collections.  The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act is a statue enacted in 1978 which seeks to eliminate abusive and harassing behavior by any debt or collection agency.  The act states specific practices and rules under which debt collectors must abide by.  There are penalties for agencies found breaking these laws.  Some of these laws state that a collection agency is forbidden to harass a debtor, which includes threatening violence or legal action.  They may not use crude or offensive language or identify themselves as anyone other than by their business name.  If a consumer believes a debt or collection agency has violated any of the FDCPA laws the BBB encourages them to file complaints with the BBB at bbb.org and Federal Trade Commission at ftc.gov.
