Has anyone received a call from this number 855-332-3146? Her name is Robin she's very nasty and she stated that since I wouldn't verify the last numbers of social security number she would filed something against me, I told her she should not be calling my job I know my rights or mail what you have for me.

she called my mother in law told her one thing,then my husband called her and she told him it was for apay day loan from 2008 and said we would pay $500 today or go to court and pay $2000 he hung up on her

Thanks. They called my place of employment on a Saturday really! The number they call from is 202-793-4362 and they leave the 855 ext. these people need to stop. They didn't want to talk with my lawyer. Scam!

They call family, friends, neighbors and/or places of employment (past or present or both) to create panic and embarrassment so that their intended victim calls them and they can scare that person into paying their extortion money.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
