Scammer phone number on the web. IT IS NOT APPLE. Do not call... your HD will NOT be deleted.

koobface virus showed on my laptop while reading the news and it indicated that i needed to call that toll-free number to fix the virus or else it will delete my hard drive.  I called, man had an accent, and asked for the error code on my screen, i read it to him and he said he can help me.  Then it got weird, he asked what I use the laptop for (news reading, homework), who owns it (my daughter) and where is she right now?  I didn't answer the last question and told him I will just bring the laptop to an apple store and slammed the phone.  There was nothing wrong with the laptop.  The hacker tried to make me believe that there was by popping a virus on the screen with a toll free number.  Don't call this number or pick up their call

SCAM. The guy claims to be an Apple tech support but he's not.

Dropdown on screen, voiceover said that I had a virus and that the hard drive was now timed to erase in five minutes.  Countdown timer on screen going down from five minutes.  Had a phone number to call.  Called the number, spoke to someone with a heavy accent.  Said he was from a "PC" service company - which also handled Apple computers.  Whole thing smelled of bad fish.  Hung up.  Hard to get off screen - finally force quit Firefox, restarted.  Amazing:  computer continues to function just as before.  No problems.  Just another damn scammer.
