They say they belong to CSS a collection agency for court proceedings

I owe a on-line loan, from Mac Lending Services.  They don't exist.

Said they were preparing court documents and needed to get in touch with my daughter.  My daughter has nothing pending with any courts.  I am sure this is a scam call.

Said they were preparing for delivery of documents. Left his name as Mark Wallace. Did not identify the company. I don't have any outstanding bills that this could be referring to. Must be a scam.

This is a SCAM!!!!  Ask a bunch of questions, they will get frustrated! Trust me

I got a call saying that i owe money to a payday company and this happened 7+ years ago. I knew then that was a lie. ASK QUESTIONS? Mention the Better Business Bureaus and they will have A NASTY ATTITUDE.

They are doing the exact same thing to me! Threatening court now and calling my employer.

I to got a call from Mark Wallace and he called my work and my mother.

I received a call from this number stating they were Manhattan Processing attempting to collect on a payday loan from 2010.  They claim that all the information matched but were unable to answer my many questions and they did get frustrated. They also stated that they were going to put me on the dispute list and hung up!

when i question why that are calling they hung up on me.  This is a scam and needs to be stopped

These are total scam jerks! Every year around tax season they blow my phone up with the same garbage. They never say who they are representing, they say "final notice" "pending case" and a bunch of crap to get people scared and give them info so they can steal your info. DO NOT call back, its not worth it. just block the number. Ive had multiple calls from so called different companies but the guys voice is always the same hahahahaha!!!!

I let them know I contacted my attorney and we also contacted the Attorney General's office and gave them the number

They called me too claiming I owe a loan.  This is fraud. They must be reported to the authorities

I have no outstanding loans but someone called and left a message that they were preparing documents to be sent to my employer as well.  Since I have no outstanding debt I couldn't figure out what they were talking about?  When I called back ii got a mailbox is full and then it said there has been an error. This is a  scam that needs to be reported to the Illinois Attorney General.  In fact I'll call about them tomorrow.

Again "final notice", preparing court documents, will verify my employer - good luck with that, I haven't worked in ten years as I am a homemaker LOL they have no idea who they are calling, they just hope you will give them a cc number or ACH debit account so they can steal from you.

The infamous  “Coastal” or CFS scam.  No idea where they are located.  Call from a variety of numbers for several years now. Ignore and block any calls received from this “Coastal” group. Sometimes uses the CID of “Coastal Litigation” or Coastal Pre-litigations.

Mark Wallace is a current debt scamming persona for this “CFS”.

In any event,

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

Note that the US Supreme Court in the Case of HENSON ET AL. v. SANTANDER CONSUMER USA INC., has recently ruled that the provisions of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act do not apply if the creditor owns the debt in question.  As a practical matter this probably won't effect the kinds of scam debt collectors who often show up on 800notes.  The scam collectors don't give you any information about themselves so it is impossible to know whether or not they in fact "own" the debt in question.  Most do not send debt validation letters and many often say they are collecting for someone else.  So, make the complaint anyway if they are bothering you.  Let the FTC sort it out.

Also contact your local attorney general

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking).   the only thing they understand.
