Called threatening to have me picked up at my job for a payday loan. Stated his name was Christopher Simmons and he was a compliance officer. Kept calling me a scammer and threatened to call ny job until I lost it. Said that I was going to face him and the sheriff when they picked me up. I told him come pick me up at my home and he said he didn't have any of my home information. I called the 855- number back and put him on three way, he immediately hung up on me. I called the number back and let my mom speak to them and they refused to say what company they were from and what state they were stationed in. Hung the phone up on my mom and hasn't called me since!!!

They only ID'd themselves to me as "Allied" -- which could be any of several debt collection companies that have  "Allied" in their company's name.

Being in ordinary civil debt is not a crime and you can't be arrested for it.  This is just an attempt to scare you into giving them some money.

Just because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

    1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
    2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
    3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  DIME  until the debt is validated.

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply block their calls and ignore them.

    If they are bothering you,

    Report them:

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection  (Threatening criinal prosecution or arrest in order to collect a civil debt is a clear violation of the federal Fair Debt Collection Pratices Act.)

Also contact your local attorney general

If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money,  tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.  If you can find them.

Calling all of my relatives with the same last name, leaving message about some kind of case against me and when I called the number given 855-338-9752, he said he was from "Allied" would not give me anything more than that and that I owed some pay day loan.  I asked him to please send me a letter to my home address, he got angry and said he would call and get the Sheriff's office to pick me up.  He is calling my in-laws, my son and leaving messages about a case he has pending against me and litigation department.

    Thank you

Keep demanding a written debt validation notice sent by US Mail.  He is required by law to send it to you. Tell him you are serving notice to him that you are formally disputing this debt (although that should be sent in writing, by US Mail, Certified, Return Receipt with a Notarized copy for your records). His threat of having the Sheriff come pick you up is illegal according to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and you can sue him for $1000.  Report his illegal threat to your state Attorney General and the FTC.  Also go to the FTC website at the link below and read your rights with respect to debt collection and what collectors can and cannot do and what they must do.
