They have been calling and saying I have a bad check out there but can't call them back it says there not set up to take calls.. its a scam

A guy named Robert called me.  He was EXTREMELY RUDE !!  He said that he worked in arbitration and I needed to set up a payment plan for a debt I had or I would have to go to court. I later found out that he was calling from his personal cell phone and when I called him back on it he lied and said that Robert was not his name. I did tell them that I would pay. I just found out that they are debt collectors. THEY ARE SCAMMERS!  

They called saying that I had a bad check out there and if I did not pay I would go to court. I told them that I would pay and I set up a payment plan for the amount. They have been deducting from my checking account and now I just found out that they are scammers. I tried to call their number  (855-339-0740) back and got a voicemail stating that they are not availabe. I am so pissed right now!!!

How do you know they are scammers? They are doing the same to me. Every time I say I don't have the money they are "taking me to court".

Real debt collectors cannot call you on the phone and threaten you. You have the right to ask for written documentation of the alleged debt to be mailed to you via postal mail, not email, not a text, not a phone call alone. If I were you, I would no longer answer calls from this number.

Even if the debt is valid, be sure you are dealing with the actual creditor, not someone who cold calls you. There are too many scammers with access to credit information who try to steal payments.

They called me constantly harassing me on my home ,cell, and work phone. This man said if i didn't pay i would go to jail. Now my money is gone and i still owe my debt. It hurts cause i work to hard to get SCAM....

I paid them 1100 dollars and got scammed! Now I can't get a hold of them, and called them so they could send me confirmation of paid debt.

I got a call from 855.339.0740 did not respond right away when I did they said the same thing that I had a bad check, and that I have to go to court. I also agreed to pay, I set up a monthly amount when it came time for the second month to come out, nothing did. I tried to contact them but the number is not in service. I will dispute it thru my bank, thanks for the info.
