I didn't get a call from this number but was told to call it or my computer would be disabled.

Me too windows virus scam

computer went crazy says its Microsoft and to call this number 1-855-339-2883 to fix the virus that is on your computer  The so called tech says its going to cost me $ 250.00 to fix it over the internet also say that it in my network ??  Im with Comcast its their network not mine so I told him NO and hung up

Says it was from Microsoft  and a virus was on my computer.

Mine too and the page would not close. I had to hold the on/off button in to shut the computer down. Now it is acting weird. Did yours do this?

The same thing on my.laptop and the page would not shut down. Had to hold on/off button down to shut computer off. Did yours do this too? Running a full scan now.

to clean out the cache and cookies. Get a browser that accepts add ons and install ad blockers and disable javascript.

Clicked on a "suggested site" on Facebook that said WIlliam Shatner had died.  Got taken to a fake Microsoft tech support scam page which locked up my browser and gave this number to call.  Shut down browser with Task Manager.
Problem solved.
