This is Spectrum (Brighthouse) cable when you forget to pay your bill

Fake Number check your account online.

call said I owed money on my last bill and could disconnect service. The amount was different than what we normally pay so I was suspicious. I followed the prompt to speak with someone and I got disconnected. When I got home I checked my account and all is fine. This is a scam.

This one I think IS valid --- Somehow we missed paying Spectrum, and the message was as follows:

""Hello, this is Spectrum with a courtesy call for DB-Cooper. This is a friendly reminder to review your account balance immediately, or you can call 844-747-3880 to speak with a representative. Thank you for choosing Spectrum.""

Seems like, since the number they left was a good number for them, and they didn't leave any fake number, this might be totally legit.  Do keep in mind that, as per the message, there is no way to tell which account they are calling about, (we have two houses and two accounts).

Here's an idea: call Spectrum and ask them if they called you.

Scam. I don't even have a cable account and yet this number called me too with the same message. Do not trust! If you receive a call from this number, please hang up and call your service provider directly and ask them about your account status. Report to them what has happened and allow them to inform the Police and note the time and date of call. That's it! Keep yourselves safe people!

This is Spectrum about new cell system and while i was on phone with them paid my bill legit call

I called Spectrum and they confirmed that was their number.  And my bill payment was late.

I think scam. Message said the same as above. I am on auto pay so i see red flag. Current new scam is to spoof utility companies. Who calls on Sunday anyway?
