it's a lawyers office

They called regarding a summons to appear in court.  The number they called is an old number that used to belong to my daughter and now the phone # belongs to a friend of mine which was the one to relate the message to me.

Collection agency posing as a law office. Unable to contact me directly, they Googled my family name and blindly started calling people they think are my relatives. Reported to the FCC for posing as a law office.

As above, this is a collection agency that is posing as a law office. When I asked to speak to the attorney in charge of my "case", the collection agent on the phone stopped just short of self-identifying as a lawyer. Smart move. He then said he was trying to deliver an "SC 100" form, which is a notification of. . . wait for it. . . a small claims court action.

This is clearly a small time operation without significant resources to properly collect debts.

This company is a scam. Be aware do not give your SS# and report to proper authorities.

They actually tried to get me to give them my SSN!
