- FredScam call make sure people get a real letter this is a spoof number .scammers
- MJG replies to Nick SRefusing to give you information- ILLEGAL under the FDCPA. This sounds like a bottom feeder who has NO real paperwork on your debt (if you even have debt).
Demand WRITTEN proof of the debt that I MAILED to you. I doubt you will get that but will get excuses & illegal threats. (The caller has 5 days to respond to your request per the FDCPA). They are hoping to scare you with the threat of court - 99.9% that will not happen because the caller would be out in the open - and actually have to prove your debt. The pay a small part now is a major red flag. Give your state attorney general's office a call.

- M| 1 replyJust received a voicemail from a Mark Walker at 855-343-6088. Left a message stating he has a faxed order for delivery of documents to address on record for and then he stated my name. He requested a return call for proper delivery of these doucments. Sounds fishy to me.
- JM replies to MSame call, same message.
- PBNSame message. They have called my home and cell numbers and have left the same message, 2 different days.
- Roger snyderSame thing mark walker called I called back and she told me I was going to be served papers for a payday loan. I have payday loans but not with the amount she said I borrowed or the bank sh we said the money was put into . Total scam
- J| 2 repliesSame call from "Mark Walker". Called me at work yesterday and left a message. When I called back I got a lady who answered the phone and when I was calling back in regards to some documents, she put me on hold then the call went dead and hung up on me. Today I received a message on my cell phone about these "documents". I have no debt other than my house, so I know it's a total scam.

- BigA replies to J| 1 replyThis is a common ploy by criminals masquerading as debt collectors who are attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this, all for an alleged or nonexistent debt. One of the tricks they use is to call your work place, friends, or relatives repeatedly in an attempt to shame you into paying. They also use the “process server” ruse who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Is this 1989???? - Rose| 2 repliesI'm getting the same calls, they are scammers, I've called a lawyer and they told me legally they have to write me first and it would show on my credit report, neither of these two things happened, so the lawyer told me not to pay cuz they are scammers and just feeding on my fear that they are taking me to court. I've blocked them on my phones and placed a complaint with the state.
- Danielle replies to BigAReceived 2 calls from Mark Walker today and also contacted a relative. Payday loan back from 2008 that went to colections and they just now located me. Funny since I lived and worked at the same place for the past ten years not to mention I filed bankruptcy in 2010 and nothing showed up for these people. Icing on the cake when I mentioned the statue of limitations was exceeded on this debt he hung up on me.
