I got the call as well. After doing a Google search on the number and knowing that I had recently gotten a new card because of the chip cards coming out I called UPS from the customer support number on the website. Turns out because of the new card the expiration date changed so the old card was in fact invalid. Curiously though the last payment did go through according to UPS and my balance is $0. It's always good to be cautious though. If you have any doubts always call the published number and not a number left in a voice mail or an email for that matter.

This may be legit BUT, never give out sensitive information when you're contacted by phone.  ALWAYS exit the conversation and call them back at a published number.  I believe this is a legitimate call.  My UPS account is set to automatically bill my card every Sunday.  It did not bill this past Sunday (today is Wednesday), it billed today and I also received the automated call today.  I think this is a glitch with the UPS billing system.  I exited the phone call and checked my bank account and sure enough, the automated billing was a few days late.

A message was left. It said they were the UPS billing department and that my credit card was rejected.
Asked that I call (855) 350-2447 to fix. They had our phone number, our UPS account number, and (at the least) the last four digits of our credit card that is used for automatic payment.
I confirmed with both UPS and my credit card company that the information was made up.
On a conference line with me, my credit card company called 855-350-2447. The woman who answered was very professional.

Received call regarding my account with UPS. They even knew my UPS customer number! Called UPS off the number on their website and confirmed no issues with account. Incident reported to UPS Fraud Dept. and DoNotCall Registry

So glad I looked this up... all the previous posts are from 2012, but I just received this call today.  Apparently we are using an old scam.  Had never heard of this one before.  Glad I looked.

I just got the same call.

They provided my correct UPS account number, and there actually was a billing issue with my account, but the phone number they gave DOES NOT match the one on the UPS billing center website.

I logged in to my UPS account and resolved the issue myself. If it's a scam, I don't understand how they had information about my account. Either way, I strongly recommend against providing any payment information to suspicious phone numbers. If you get this call, simply log in to your UPS account and check that everything is in order.

Well they didn’t call me, but this is the number that appears in the letters that I’m receiving supposedly from UPS, asking me to make a payment because they couldn’t charge it to my card, so I called the UPS Billing dept and they said I don’t have any outstanding balance with them, that everything is paid. I suppose this an inside job, as they have all the information as tracking number, name, address... I send this info to the UPS fraud dept, I hope they can do something

However, since your UPS account number is at the beginning of every tracking number originating from your UPS account and it is becoming far easier to clone phone numbers, it is always best to call the official number rather than the one that called you (even if caller ID looks legitimate).

I received a letter supposedly from UPS telling me I owed them $25.25 for asking them to return a package that I had received (and which I had not ordered)  On 7/3 I received a letter, supposedly from UPS telling me I owed them $25.25 for picking up the  package to return to the package to the original sender.  I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A SCAM ALSO.

I believe the phone number 855-350-2447 IS A SCAMAMER. that number is NOT  listed on any UPS website.

Yes, it is an actual UPS phone number. A scammer wouldn't ask you to call the real number.

Seriously?  First of all, Bill posted 12 years ago and additional posts indicate this is a UPS call.  If you take a few seconds to read MikeHuntleton's post (scroll back to the previous post) you'll see that this IS a published number for UPS.  All you have to do is call the published number to see if you have an outstanding balance.  It's always possible that someone may spoof a number but if you call the published number you will get a UPS office.
