Phone rang...no one on the line ever answered.  Bogus!

All it said was "Hello, this is an important message for." It did not respond with a name, but kept repeating the same message then disconnected.

several calls from this number. When I answered, only silence and then dial tone.

The caller said:   If this is (name) press one;  if  this is not (name) press two to place call on hold while he comes to the phone; if (name) is not available press three.   I press three and when the lady came on the line and realized I did not want the company to call my number anymore, she hung up on me.  I called the number back and it was for Conserve (?) and the lady said they handle confidential information for a client.   Told her the call was being recorded and to take number off the list.

Sick of these people calling up to ten times a. Day.  Never say anything or leave a message.

This number has called several times a day.  Leave message saying "this call will be terminate."  No other information.  Caller ID just says toll free

I've stopped answering 1-800 calls.  This is the second or third call this week, with no message left.. I don't understand why we're getting these calls when we registered to opt-out.

Yet another poster who signed up for a government freebie, but was unable to understand what it really does, or why it was instituted.  The Do Not Call Registry works well.  It is your understanding of it that is faulty.


Fact: The National Do Not Call list is NOT a call blocker!
The DNC list is a LIST, subscribed to / purchased by legitimate telemarketers, so they know who not to call.

Fact: The FCC or FTC do not give or sell the list to unqualified recipients!

Fact: Telephone numbers on the Registry don’t expire.  You do NOT have to re-register periodically.

Fact: Scammers and spammers ignore the DNC list.
Many use "war dialers" to quickly dial phone numbers.  After all, phone numbers are just numbers, and are no secret!  (Arabic numbers were invented about 500 AD, so even stupid scammers know about them by now).

Fact: The DNC list does not apply to NON-sales calls, such as political calls, charities, surveys, debt collectors and businesses with which you have done business with during the previous 18 months.

Fact:  Spam callers can be blocked by getting a real call blocker.
 Google (or your favorite search engine) is your friend.

I got a call from this number after applying for an account at Citibank I wonder if the two are related

Awful robocall, the caller ID displays "Conserve".
I never pick up, but still it is exhausting.

This is a debt collection company named Conserve. They call my home number periodically. I got tired of it and called back. It was a recorded message when I called back, and I pressed "2" to report a complaint. When the operator picked up, I said that I needed to know who they were trying to reach at my number, and that I receive several calls from them. The operator was very friendly and said they were looking for Tiffany. I told her there is no Tiffany here. I've had the same home number for 20 years, and there has never been a Tiffany here. The operator apologized and said she'd remove my number. She was very nice.

Yeah, a nice debt collector?  I doubt that.  Most likely you will have to send them a "not me" letter by certified, return receipt mail.
