Yes actually just got it from a "restricted #"  Automated voice that said I have a formal complaint in their office and to call back immediately or press 1 to speak to representative.  They mentioned serving me at my home address on file or my place of employment.  Until I get something in writing via certified mail I don't do anything other than advise them of that

Well called it back sounded like a large call center in the background.  Female answered and gave the name of Access Legal Solutions and I gave my first name and asked what this was regarding she put me on hold for about a minute and then hung up on me.

The hold music was something I heard in the past and told people to stop calling until I received documentation.

Received an automated voice message stating there was a formal complaint in their office and to call back immediately.  Called back to their office and I was advised I owed money and would receive a summons in the mail to appear in court.

I denied the allegations and was placed on hold.  The person did not return to the phone

If you call that number they answer by saying Access Legal (mumble) and then refuse to give you any more information.  I thought this might be an off-shore scam, but the guy I talked to had a pretty solid US voice.  Something called "Access Legal" (fill in the blank) has a history of debt scamming .

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

    1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
    2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
    3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they are bothering you, report them:

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening civil proceedings with no intent to follow through, or threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a  violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.)  The same goes for endless telephone harassment

Note that the US Supreme Court in the Case of HENSON ET AL. v. SANTANDER CONSUMER USA INC., has recently ruled that the provisions of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act do not apply if the creditor owns the debt in question.  As a practical matter this probably won't effect the kinds of scam debt collectors who often show up on 800notes.  The scam collectors don't give you any information about themselves so it is impossible to know whether or not they in fact "own" the debt in question.  Most do not send debt validation letters and many often say they are collecting for someone else.  So, make the complaint anyway if they are bothering you.  Let the FTC sort it out.

Also contact your local attorney general

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.  Tell 'em  no scammy debt collector is going to push you around.

You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking).   the only thing they understand.

I got this robo call and said 'legal action' was pending, no company name given.  I blocked my phone number and called the number they left 855-371-9710.  Got a recording offering to see if I qualified for their free offers today...hmm, probably NOT an attorney!  Hung up.

They actually called my in-laws home. So I returned the call. Spoke with "Robin Tyler" said company name was access services. I requested a debt validation letter via USPS, she said she couldn't send that since she was just the arbitrator. Asked for the physical address for her company was denied. Then she said she would make note that I refused to receive the information and hung up. I called Texas State attorney general office and  gave them the info. I pulled a credit report nothing on there from this Riverside Financial they are arbitrating for. Sounds like a scam to me.

Got the same recording as the reports - called the number back - told I would have court summons from something in 2010 that I've never heard of.  Called our Attorney General's office & she said do NOT call back - do NOT pay - this is a major scam right now with different phone numbers.  Look at the reports - all from yesterday!!

Whoa - this must be something new because I am seeing that all of these complaints are recent. I received a called from an Unknown number and they left a voicemail stating there has been a formal complain received in their office for me and to contact immediately to avoid any further legal action. I called back and they knew who I was without even providing any information. The lady proceeded to mention that I am being charged with two counts of check fraud (my heart dropped, I didn't know what to think and to top it off I am pregnant!). She stated it was 2010 with Riverside Financial. Freaking out, I just wanted to get this taken care of, I didn't know if someone had stolen my identity - I just knew I had to take care of it - plus I was in real panic mode. I was transferred to their "senior management" and he stated once I paid $490, I would be sent all of the documentation. At the time I didn't know what to think, but I couldn't go to jail for something I didn't know. It was awful - I ended up paying the $490 and then asking looking into it more, I said no this can't be right. This is a scam/fraud - so I ended up cancelling the payment with credit card company, thankfully they will not be getting any of that money!!!

That was my exact thing too!  Except with Epp Lending and $434 if I paid right now or it would be $2400 if I go to court.

They knew everything about me too - old mailing address, email address, social #, bank name ... only thing they had totally wrong was the phone number they had on file - never even heard of the number!

Yes, same thing - it was pay the $490 go to court and pay $3000!! They are very convincing, they had prior and current addresses for me, a previous bank. After thinking about it, I thought it was extremely weird that they stated documents have been sent to an old address (haven't lived there since 2009) yet they had my new address so why weren't the documents sent there? After thinking about everything it just seemed too weird so I called my credit card company and had them list the charge as fraud  - they closed my account and are disputing the charges - they said I have nothing to worry about it, but we will see. I'll be very upset if they end up getting the $490.

They had all the same infor in me as well!! I knew it couldn't be right, because in 2010, there would have been no way I would have taken out the payday advance they claim I did..

I received a message from an unknown number claiming to be from the advocacy court offices.  I called back and left a message. A woman called back stating that I was being sued for check fraud. She said they sent documents to my house via regular mail that I did not receive. When I asked her for the attorney info, she said she couldn't give me the information.  Then I asked how come I wasn't served and she said that people don't need to be served for civil court cases anymore, which I know is BS.Then she tried to get me to settle out of court. I told her no and that I would wait to receive court docs about it.
