This company calls and threaten you,  to come out and issue a warrant the next day, they say they are coming to your job or home and at the end of the call, they say you have just been served.

Said same thing that we need a valid government used ID will be at place of employment and residency to make yourself available. Gave a ref # that didn't sound legit and no paperwork ever. It has to be a scam no other info given and the # that showed on the caller ID was actually as follows: 7748283686237

That is way too long of a number but in the voicemail it said to call the 855# if any questions.

    I call BS!

My friend received a voice mail that stated this person was coming today with papers that he needed to sign and that he would need a valid ID and a witness at either his workplace or home and this phone indicated he had "legally been served".  Also stated that if he had any phone calls to make he needed to make them now before this person arrived.  Said that he apparently received papers that he didn't follow up on.  Made it sound like he was being arrested or something. The call came from a pay phone but gave this 855 # to call "immediately" and stated it was the pre-litigation department for whomever she worked for.    Has anyone else had this type of call?  Sounds strange to me that someone serving so called legal papers would call and tell you when they were coming.....and I have known this person for years and they owe nothing or no one.  Sounded very odd.........

I have been getting these same calls for the past week!  I finally called them back today just to see what it was all about.  I spoke to Timothy Peters at 855-373-1873 x 324.  He knew the last four digits of my social and that I had a very old debt with Think Cash.  He said that I was being sued and if I didn't pay by this friday the settlement amount or make a payment agreement I would be sued and would have to pay almost double the amount.  He told me that this was not a collection agency that it was a law firm.  I told him that I have NEVER received any correspondence from CSR and that before I can make payments I will need to see this agreement in writing.  He said I should receive something by Tuesday.  The whole thing stinks of a scam.  He even put me on hold to talk to the "senior litigator" and plead for a settlement on my behalf.  I only owed Think Cash $2200. Does anyone think that a "senior litigator" is going to stop his day to consider a settlement offer from me?  NO ~ give me a break, I truly feel this is a scam ~ a search on the internet shows NO law firm by the name CSR & Associates.  If they want money out of me they are going to have to sue me.  There is however, a ton of information on the internet about people getting these same phone calls and it being a rip off.

Been getting these calls from private and they leave a message telling me to call 1-855-373-1873 and that I have been legally served and to make myself avail the next day and have a witness their too. This is a total scam. This should be illegal!!! They have been calling for weeks and yet be served and been home. Talk to a women and she got back and hung up on me cause I was telling her to come to my house to serve me I was home and she was like we can work it out over the phone and I just keep saying no, I want to be served and go to court and she then started yelling and saying nonsense.

My sister in law received this call saying my brother and I will be served. It scared me at first but thankfully I looked it up and found out that all of you received the same call. It seems like a load of crap to me.

I recieved a call from a "local Courier" who claimed to be coming to my businesss & home in attempt to serve me papers... I called the number she provided and it was a debt collector for ThinkCash.com  ...Said they were going to file a civil suit for a bad debt and attempting to defraud a financials institution... I haven't been served any papers...

Also received a call from a "local courier" from a "pay phone" to my cell number.  Said the same thing about papers I should have received a month ago and to call 855-373-1873 and a file reference number.  Weird that the number that appeared on my cell phone screen was a 3-year old cell phone number formerly held by one of my family members.  I'm not calling this number.

I also have been reciving calls since 01/25 from a guy who call my cell from a "private number" and says to call the 855# and leaves an ID# and ends the V/M with' you have been legally served and good luck". He is supposedly going to be at my house or place of employment tomorrow 01/31 btwn 11-5 so I can "sign" these so called papers. I live in a state that has no garnishments of wages unless it's child support or IRS debt. So, not much they can do here, especially since pay day loan debt is not considered as "bad checks" in most states. Has anyone actually ever been served for this kind of debt?

I have received these calls several times and like you said they say someone will come out to serve you papers, they also had me to come a purchase a walmart money card to put the money on, I have been talking off and on with them.  They said they would send me papers to confirm what I owe and what I have agreed to pay, however I have never received this information in the mail so it makes me think this is a scams.  They also said they are a collection agency.  They continue to call my job.  I am trying to be nice as I speak with me but the more they call the more they are pushing me to do somthing about the call.

These same people have been calling my job and even pissed off my boss because she kept telling them I wasn't there and all she could do was take a message and they just kept asking for me. They told her they needed to come serve me with papers and that I was going to be sued due to check fraud! So I contacted the clerk of courts in my county and had no outstanding checks (which I knew but I wanted to be sure no one had gotten ahold of my info and wrote any checks). Then I called them back (Rolanda Dickerson called at 855-373-1873) and spoke to some guy who started off as saying he was NOT a debt collector and he worked for blah blah law offices and wanted to help me work out a deal to stop this company from sueing me! He even put me on hold to speak to his "Senior Litigator" about working out a payment arrangement! What Law office does that! So I told him to just come serve me or send my the info on what I supposedly owe and hung up! They still call but its been weeks and I still havent been served with ANYTHING. They try to scare you into giving up your card info and the tactics they use are ILLEGAL! I reported them to the FTC and if I speak to them again I will just tell them that I forwarded their info to my Lawyer that will be in contact with them and see how fast they hang up!!

So that's who this is?! I have a very old debt with them and I haven't received anything in years from them. The "process server" just called me this morning saying that she was coming today to have me sign for a "certified letter of intent". I told her I had no idea who she was or why she was coming so I wasn't going to make myself available to some random person. My loan with Think Cash is only $506! I haven't called them yet. This makes me want to make a Class Action Suit against them for pretending to be a law firm if they're a collection agency!

Call initiated from a blocked number to my cell phone, caller a Wendy Richards, “process server for the county” coming to serve a “certified letter of intent” to my home and work, told me to contact 855-373-1873 and a reference file # in order to stop her.

Called the number and spoke to Mark Gray (very nice), said he cannot give me too much info on their company (why not?, sounds fishy already) but that they were an in-bound call center for a network of attorneys that handle bad debt cases.

He said that they were calling in regards to a Think Cash debt (from 2007) that came to them. He emailed me a letter for verification that they were who they said they were. Said they had emailed me 2 letters, one in August, one in November (I never received any letters, haven’t received anything from Think Cash or debt collectors in years). Asked if I would like to handle voluntarily (I said yes), said he needed to put me on hold to see if he was “allowed” to do that. He came back that he was allowed but said I would need to make a settlement payment of $500, the total debt being $1000. I told him I didn’t have that kind of money right now, but I could make payment arrangements of $100 a month (I have recently started paying my old debts back and Think Cash was on my list anyway) and send them the money through my bank. He put me back on hold.

The person who came back on the line was Sharon Myers who I’m assuming is some kind of manager. She started off pretty rudely, arguing with me that yes I did get the letters, and I argued back that just because she has my address and says they sent letters, that is no proof that I received them. I never signed for anything. The letter that Mark had emailed me she said was the same letter they sent in the mail (mind you it was dated with today's date). The letter also has a payment due date of 2/17/12, to which I asked why they were threatening me with a civil suit if it's not even past the due date? She stated that I would've needed to make settlement arrangements prior to then (which the letter does not state), etc. I told her she can have that process server come out then with the certified letter. Sharon said that if I was served the papers, the debt would out of her hands and now a civil suit with _______ County and I would have to pay the double the entire amount, plus 300% interest and attorney, filing, and court fees and my total bill would be over $7000. She said I would need to make payment arrangement fees immediately in order for that not to happen. (Are you kidding me?! That can't be right!) I told her I already said I would make payment arrangements, I just needed an address to send the money to. She seemed confused and said we just need your bank account info. I told her I do not allow outside companies to withdraw money from my accounts (that’s how I got in trouble with Think Cash to begin with). She starts arguing with me again that why would they let me pay with a check because this is a bad check debt (which it's not) and blah blah blah. We went around and around for awhile and finally I was like look, I’m offering make arrangements to pay back the entire debt. You can get me an address or you can serve me the papers. She finally puts me on hold for an eternity and kept coming back and apologizing that it was taking so long, that they “have never done this before”. (What, seriously??!!)

She comes back on the line with an address and account numbers and is super nice now. I tell her I will schedule the first payment for $100 and hang up. I give her a courtesy call back to tell her that it was done and the date to expect the funds. She’s irritated and confused again because she thought I was going to do a wire transfer of the entire $1000 due! I said “I never said that! How am I going to give you $1000 when I couldn’t afford the settlement arrangement?!” She said she couldn’t put a hold on the account then for it not to go to a civil suit. To which I replied “You’ll attempt a civil suit even when it’ll show I’m making payments to you?” She said “Fine I’ll put you through to the payments dept so you can tell them the dates you’re going to make payments.” I told her that was fine.

She transferred me to another woman, I gave her the dates for the next 10 months, asked for a confirmation letter, which they emailed and hung up.

I had every intention on paying this debt and I just want it over with which is why I even put up with this crap, but don't let them bully you into giving out account numbers or anything like that. I still think we should figure out our own Class Action suit like I said in my other comment because this is obnoxious and has to be illegal.

The same company has left two very in depth voicemails at my place of employment which get listened to in a very public forum. Stating that they would be at my place of employment between the hours of 12-5 the next day to service papers regarding a particular file number. Asking for the head of security to be available. The third call came into my supervisor and the person on the phone Maraim Kaines left everything that she could possibly leave with someone.

I called the 855 # to talk to someone who then try to say the person that called my work does not work for them. I then asked how does that person give out the business phone number with a supposed file #.
She then backtracked saying well she might work here.
