I received phone call to my home phone from this phone number 855-396-0001, it was a female representative claiming to be from Associated Credit/Collection (not sure of title order). She claimed my old apartment had sent a carpet replacement fee to debt collection for 500 dollars. It seemed on par with report my ex and previous lease-mate gave me of receiving letter of payment request. We agreed to split payment and it was completed a month before this phone call came. However the rep's belligerent and rude attitude and phrasing when I said I would find paperwork and make calls to verify the debt had me suspicious. If I find it is a scam I will try to report back here to you.

I am now getting the several calls from this number. And now they are calling my sisters cell phone looking for me...Did you ever find out if it was a scam?

Same Here! They have contacted me in the past and are very rude to me or the staff. I went as far as to say "this sounded like a scam". The guy is persistant and actually ask my employee how much money she made. Doon't pay anything find your paperwork, Its a scam until proven otherwise. If it is not the harresment should be looked into.......

my old roommate got a call from this lady also saying the samething about an old apartment we had moved out of earlier. she stated the same thing about she needed half of the money. My roommate called me and told me about the call. I get the phone number back from him and when I called it just rang until it stated the number was disconnected. I came to this site to see that other people has goten the same type of calls from about the same type of issue. She never gave her company name just said her name was "Laura" and that she had a file in front of her about the old apartment. Luckliy we investgated on out own before anything happened to us or a payment was made.

Yeah I've had a few calls from some girl saying in a very pre-teen aggressive, too familiar tone..."Yeah, this message is for ***, this is Emma, um, you need to call me back at 855-396-0001, this is not a sales call but there is something you need to know about, so call me back as soon as you get this!" Literally, thats what the message said. I swear it sounded like some chick trying to tell me she was knocked up or something, that's how aggressive and irritated she sounded! Hahah! Freakin debt collectors should have rules of conduct or the debt should be released due to harrassment...just sayin...

I received a call as well,and coming from an ex-collector let me tell you all anytime you receive a call from a debt collector first of all, they should give you whats called the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collections Practices Act) Miranda, I don't want to say it on here to give any scammers any new ideas but all collectors are trained on it and must be given on all calls and by LAW if you ask for something in writing they MUST send you a letter and you are not required to pay the collector you can pay the company you owe directly and the collection agency will still get credit for collecting on the debt even though you did not pay the agency which should be fine if the collection agency is legit, so be warned do not trust anyone calling asking for money!!!

I received a call from this number 855-396-0001.  The caller was extremely rude and aggressive and refused to identify the company he worked for.  It felt like a scam to me.

My identity was recently stolen and I think this could be a scam where thief is phishing for information. A voicemail was left by a young man with an urban accent. He request that I return his call and left no other information. I think this must be some kind of rip off or scam.

I recieved a call from a man from this Associated Credit and Collection (Can't remember the name) Saying, just like many of the other people listed here, that I owe money from an apartment I rented. Not sure if this is a scam or not, he seemed to have some good information but couldn't "legally" tell me too much about the process.  When we started discussing payments he started to get difficult and tried some scare tactics to get me to pay him, or give him bank information right off.  I'm not going to pay anything until I get some more information. The apartment is not even there anymore/under new management and not even called the same name.  Not too concerned about it. Just would rather not talk to the rude, demanding man on the other end of the phone.....claiming "he didn't get to be a manager by lying to people."

I never did find out if it was a scam or not, I just received a phone call again from an Alex West from the same company, it has been almost 6 months since I spoke with them. And they still got very impersonal in their attitude. I think they may be legitimate, but they seem to have been misinformed of payments made directly to the parties owed and assume that the debt is still in collection when it is likely not.

An Alex West called and said he was collecting money from and apartment I lived in back in 2001 and one from another apt last year.  The one from last year just a month or so ago was dismissed from court because no one from the neighborhood I lived in showed up in court so I know I do not have to worry about it and the other from 2001, Alex tells me this money I owe will be on my credit report for 6 or 7 years so I might as well pay it now, I then said its from 2001 that was more than 10 years ago, he kept insisting I pay told but there is nothing I am paying since one is so old and the other was dismissed from court.  He then got rude and told me that I am going to have to pay it and that his company would continue to call me, so I told him that if I get another call I will report you.  Plus my girlfriend is a lawyer so I am far from worried, it's annoying how these companies try to puss people around to get money from them

I received a call 855-396-0001 on my cell phone and someone left a message on my voice mail.  The caller was a man, named John Brown, who statetd that "this was not a sales call, but he needed to speak to me." I responded with a text saying that if he ever calls my number again, I will turn his number over to the FBI.  And if he does call again, that's exactly what I intend to do,  This is a scam.

A Mr. Phillips keeps calling me in regards to my old Apt.  It is clearly an unjustiefied amount.  He has  also made threats to call my place of employment.  I downloaded an app that records all my calls.  I will file a complaint if he keeps calling us.

I got a call from (855)396-0001. A man in a serious voice named ”Mr Phillips”. He did not leave a business name. Thanks to this websight I'm not calling back.

Fake Philips must have a log stuck in his throat to make a serious call like that?

My sister in law in another state recieved a call asking for my brother who has been dead almost two years. The man identify himself as john loch. After hearing that he was deceased he then said he was looking for me and wanted my phone number. It was not given out. Where do these people get that personal information  and how can they be allowed to continue these practices?????
