Received a warning on my PC that my personal info was compromised and call this number to unlock my PC and fix everything. They said that this is a Microsoft Support number.  It is not and this is a total SCAM.

They just locked up my computer and I called them. I told them I know they are scammers because I don't use google. I let them have a few choice words and they hung up. This happens all the time I just wish Google would go after them. T^he number is 855-396-8753

Message said I had a virus blocked on my PC  t Google Chrome but that I needed to call them. I could tell from the screen layout it was a scam. I've have 3 incidents this week. Ugh!

Received the following message on my computer...
" Google Chrome Critical Error!
Security System has detected the threatening attempt to gain access to your bank logins and related data but this dangerous connection was blocked with Firewall and further data leak was prevented.  We strongly recommend you to perform temporary block of all your accounts and take some necessary security measures.
Despite the timely blocking of the connection, there is still a serious threat of private data stealth.
Please don't wait to respond, every minute is important!
Thee is possibility that virus already hurt your disk or destroyed and stole its data.
It is reason for checking current system security and verifying its stabiliy.
Do not spend your time and immediately call us or contact our service center support team

The line is not answered as Microsoft.  They state that Microsoft programmed this number in case of critical emergency!?
They try to convince you to troubleshoot with them online!  I declined to do so and advised that they are suspicious.
The number does not come up online as a Microsoft anything number

This is a tech help scam.  You would be calling crooks in India who who take your money and take control of your computer. Ignore the message, the problem start if you let these crooks on your computer.

Sign off the web and restart your computer.  You may have a piece of Pop-Up malware on your computer if the messages continue, and will need to have that problem addressed.

They froze my computer twice in three days. Fortunately googled the number and found this site.

Well, you can block the calls with a call blocker. Then follow the advice on the post above yours.

How will a call blocker help?  Did you read the other posts?  This is a message that is coming up on their computer that was delivered by an ad, not a phone call.

Disconnect from the internet.  Restart the computer even if you have to do a hard restart.  Do not let the browser reopen the tabs.  Clear the cache, cookies and history.  Run a virus/malware scan.  Hopefully you have Malwarebytes or Spybot installed.  You should be fine and if you install an ad blocker you won't see one of those pop ups again (also disable popups without your permission).
