- JohnI got a called with a caller id shown as private number. This lady sounded just like the 2 previous posters. She was clearly reading off a script that is not familiar & reading really fast. Sounds like a black person. Saying something about a pending civil lawsuit file against me in California and asked that I immediately contact them today at 855-415-0639. Asked that I provide the case # something like 55xxxxxx.
I received this kind of phone threads many times in the past. It's nothing but their scare tactic. They are trying to collect an noncollectable & non suitable debts that they bought from the original creditor for 1/2 penny for a dollar. If you have the time, then mess with them on the phone, give them hope that you are going to pay, then screw them at the end. Otherwise, just tell them go to hell and hang up.
Nothing to be worry about. This is a total SCAM.- Caller: Amenda (Edwards & Associates)

Show image ▶ - ERNESTI received a call from the same individual. 1st from a call with no id. They also stated i had i legal case pending and 1st gave me an address i never lived at but i was aware of this address only becuase it belong to a friend of mind. I called the nubmber that was provided. They stated i was being sued for a pending amount i owed with a bank who loan me a personal loan of 15k and i had a remainding balance. I told them i was unware of such loan. The rep was very rude he stated his name was brian. He stated they had my signature. He then proceed with asking me how did i want to pay the balance and of course i responded by stating i would not making any payments until i saw something in writing. The rep then stated "if i was not going to pay" i would see the information in court and hung up. I called back to ask why did he hang up and demanding to speak with a supervisor. The rep place me on hold for some minutes. When he came back to the phone the idiot tried to change his voice. I told him that he sounded just like the rep that placed me on hold. I stated he was playing on the phone and i then asked to speak with a supervisor once again. The rep then states he was not playing on the phone and stated there was noting else that needed to be discussed and hung the phone up once again on me. I called back and got a rep who stated she work for an answering service. I asked for the name of the company she answered the phone for and she gave me wesley partners and associates and an address of po box 12008 san diego california. I googled the company's name and did not find the company at all. (wesley partner and associates) seems like a scam. The orignal lady who called from a number with the no caller id / stated she was calling from an office that does not give the number. I could have sworn i heared her giggle alittle as she gave me the explaination. They are scammers!!!

- anonymousReceived a call from unknown number. Voicemail leaving 855-415-0663 as return call number regarding a complaint that had been filed in "Michelle's" office. I just received a bankruptcy discharge last month, so I thought I would be safe to call them. Lady who answered said "corporate answering service". I asked who I was speaking with and she said they only answer and direct calls at this point. Asked for the file number I'd been given. Gave it and was transferred to Dana. Dana had to put me on hold saying she just received the file and didn't have details but she could get them from right next door. Put me on hold and came back. She pressed hard for identifying info. I could tell it was all being recorded. I told her that I didn't want to give any more info and that I'd filed a bankruptcy which had been recently discharged. She asked "what does that have to do with anything?" I said I assumed this was about a debt. She said no, it's a civil matter. what makes you think it's a debt? I then said fine, verified info, and she said, "it is indeed about a debt." Proceeds to tell me that its about an old mastercard. I told her I didn't have a mastercard? She said it was old and gave the the issuing company's name. The only card I ever had with that company was settled with them back in 2005. She said this was about the remaining balance (none? - but she says about $1000.) She said it had been in good standing but went into collections in 2009 (not true) and that accounts only come to them in the last days of the statute of limitations. She explained that her "firm" sent me a notice of intent to sue and had not received a response. I asked when they'd sent it.. Response - a couple months ago. I reminded her of my bankruptcy discharge - like literally only 30 some odd days ago. a couple months ago would have been in the middle of the filing and that I know any debt that was in collections at the time of filing had been included. She said it had nothing to do with this debt? Wasn't included? I explained I had the notice of discharge that stated debts prior to filing were uncollectable. She said she wasn't an atty (no kidding?) and wasn't there to argue with me, but that this debt is collectable. She then said she only needed to verify my address so they can send me a summons. I said "So you are saying you intend to sue me for a debt that preceded my bankruptcy decision." She said "Yes ma'am. That's what this is about. It's already happening." I finally just told her to send me the summons and I'll give it to my atty when I receive it.
Seriously? Can't they get in big trouble for this? I informed her of my discharge like 3 times? Also if they don't send me the summons, can't they get in trouble for threatening to sue with no intent of suing? I'm so confused. I'm going to reach out to my atty if I actually receive something, but if anyone here knows anything, I'd be grateful to hear. Also if anyone actually receives anything from these people.
Oh...btw... they claimed to be "Zimmerman and Associates". It's my understanding they sometimes are Mr. Zimmerman calling from Adams and Associates. Or Edwards and associates. From the little I could find of them, they seem to conveniently play musical names when identifying themselves or the company.- Caller: Zimmerman and Associates

- Baby| 1 replyA woman left a message claiming she was from Edwards Law Firm and Associates. She said I needed to call this number immediately in reference to AR-59### a civil suit had been filed against me. When I called, he asked for my AR-59#, then mentioned my maiden name and both married names from the 90's. He gave me my last 4 numbers of my SS#. He asked me if I got a letter being summoned to court before a Judge to settle a bill from April 3, 2004 from Southwestern Hospital for $144.83 and this civil suit is a total of $1521.68 after years of collection fees.. He said he was sending me a summons since I was home. That he would be at my house today. Ha Ha, good luck collecting a 14 year old bill that I didn't make. I've never been to a Southwestern Hospital.. If he or she comes to my house, the coroner will be taking care of them...

- John replies to BabyThanks for sharing. There is a status of limitations on all the debts. It's 4-7 years depend on the state you live in. They can't sue any outdated debts. These scumbags are trying to scare people into paying a debt they bought it for 1/100 penny for a dollar. So in your case they bought that old debt for $1.45 and trying to collect for $1521.68. LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL. These scumbags are not even compliance with US Collection Act. They probably located in some poor third world countries.
- Terryclaims of "filing"- same tactic asking for information I wouldn't provide- said they had to pull the file and would be right back- I hung up.

- GrrlonthegoEXACTLY the same phone call I received today as had been previously posted- word for word. Came from a blocked number- in regard to my brother about an impending lawsuit related to an unpaid hospital bill. They’d already called my brothers wife and our other brother. My brother called the Edwards and associates number left in the message-and they refused to give him any information about the alleged debt, saying he would have to wait until he was “served” that it was all “evidence”. He then called the hospital and there is no record of an outstanding bill nor did the account numbers match. I wondered briefly if it was in fact that they’d bought an old debt and were trying strong-arm scare tactics to collect- but, no, I believe this is a straight up SCAM.
