they called me "unknown caller" I didn't answer. They didn't leave a message but then called my mother in law, my husband and one of my sisters. Said they were A.D. Associates. I called the number, gave them the case number they left. They spit out the last 4 digits of my SSN and asked me to confirm. I refused and they said they couldn't talk to me so I hung up.

They called my husband and no telling who all else trying to make it sound all legit.  Never did say what firm they were calling from.  News flash......you never get before hand about being served papers.  I've been served before and I do know how it all goes down.

Called from No Caller ID and left me a massage about legal documents being served at my current address.  Asked to call this number to solve the issue.  Also, they called my sister who lives in the different state and asked for me claiming her number was in their documents.  Then asked her if she knows where they can reach me.  I called the number asked to stop calling me and my realities. The guy tried to sound all professional and legit said I will be served at my address.

This is a debt collection scam. The company (abbottdeanandassociates) was only created 9-27-2018 and before that another “company” (Masson associates) of the same scam type was listed at the same address from the website. The previous scam company was reported to the BBB and shut down. Do not give them any information or money.

I highly doubt that reporting a scam company to the BBB would result in said company being shut down since the BBB is one of the most useless organizations out there.

I should have worded that differently. The two are not necessarily connected, just that they were reported and also shut down. Not that the BBB were the ones who shut them down.

Called me at work stating that I needed to return the call before the end of the business day- something in my gut told me to check this number out.  So glad that I did!  Don't fall for this scam!
