Every credit card/debit card/bank account comes with an agreement.  The one you never read.  That agreement contains the information on how to dispute fraudulent charges with the bank.  Maybe it is time to get that agreement out and read it, learn how to do that, and then dispute the charges with your bank?

I guess we shall see if the refund comes through, but thank you for this! I noticed this at around 10pm and wasn’t sure I would be able to fall asleep, but I feel much better now!

Just found a pending transaction on my card for a "magazine subscription". After calling my bank to inquire and report the transaction, I called the 1-855-427-1652 number that was given to the bank.  It is an automated service that will ask you for the 6 digit transaction code. (shown on your bank statement) From there you can go through the prompts to find your "account" and cancel the renewal. They will give you a bunch of options to renew at a lower rate, but I cancelled as I do not want to give them any authority into my accounts in the future.

They did not have our account info but some how accessed our bank account with a $47 UNAUTHORIZED  charge! I had to call number and cancel subscriptions where they offered them at a $2 per subscription rate. Which I would not take no matter how well we liked a magazine due to company making unauthorized charges to an account I never gave them access to!

Call your bank and tell them what is going on.  They can stop the payments even if the scammer keeps trying to take them.

I received a call saying they received something from my doctor Carl (not his full name) and it was urgent.  When you call this number they start asking questions about people in your household.  I hung up immediately and did not answer any questions.

This number leads to an automated system where you can cancel your magazine subscriptions. It seemed to work well. I think I had a year of free magazines offer but it must have then lead to charges after a year. I didn't see a reminder that my offer was ending but it is possible it was in the magazines which I don't always get time to read.

I didn't receive a phone call, but I received an unauthorized charge of $36 for Good Housekeeping on my credit card with this number.  I called the number and  they are to refund the money within 1-2 days.  They offered a year's subscription for $2 and $1 handling charge.  I cancelled everything even though I have been getting this magazine for 50+ years.  What bothers me is how did they get the credit card number when I never charge renewals.

Umm, your first call should have been to the bank to dispute the charge and get a new credit card number.

Check the website www.magcustomerservice.com to check and see if you have any subscriptions there. I had one of these charges for $38 that I didn't authorize. However when you sign up for magazines through magsformiles.com and use your airline points, they offer you more subscription for $2 each, but then you agree to the auto renewal at the current price. So my $2 magazine was $38 the next year. I cancelled it and they refunded the amount the same day. The company is Synapse Group, Inc. is based in Stamford, Connecticut. If you try and call them you will be on hold forever.

Don't click that link, its a marketing ploy to trick you into giving them your info.

I would NOT recommend anyone sign up with them or you just might wind up with more calls, or even worse find out your now paying for a subscription. You might think your only giving them an email address, but thats not enough to find out if you have subscriptions in your name. They will give out your email to everyone and spam city will be just the beginning. Once your signed up, then they will ask for some personal info, you know, so they can "check" if your on some subscription list and that too will be given out, so beware!
