Got a call from this number claiming to be from USAA asking to verify information on my mortgage.  I put them off.

Same here. They said it was a call about collecting a debt and that it related to our mortgage. Then when I asked if this was a collection call she said our account was current. Sounds like fraud.

I just received a call from a man claiming that he was with USAA mortgage and he wanted me to verify my name, email and address.  The caller gave the wrong name and I told him I wouldn't tell him anything.  I came online to research the number and it sure sounds like a scam to me. I would call your mortgage company and complain.

So that actually is the phone number for the USAA mortgage servicing company. I have no clue why they are calling us. I called them at that number earlier today.

This number is valid.  It is USAA's mortgage servicing company.  I've personally reached out to both USAA and Nation Star to verify/validate their legitimacy.  Take care all.

USAA has instructed Nation Star to welcome new mortgages and verify their contact info as well as guide them through payment options.  Be good.

This is a number for USAA mortgages. More specifically for their new handler of the mortgages, NationStar. Since USAA just switched their mortgages over to NationStar, NationStar representatives are calling all mortgage holders just to verify the information that was on file that they received from USAA. This is not a scam call or a collection call. If you have a mortgage through USAA, you can just call the number back to verify your info with them. I did that. They didn't ask me to tell them the info, they read it off and I said if it was correct or not.

Thanks for the info. Odd they don't leave a message. USAA usually does but this stupid mortgage  transition has been bungled at least for my account.

A little leery at first. I had the representative tell me my loan number and last four digits of loan balance. They then asked me to verify my mailing and email address, cell phone number, and payment method. Very professional and polite.

Got a call. She wanted to "verify your information for your USA Mortgage" (yes she said USA. Not USAA. Twice.) I told her my mortgage company would pass on correct information and it reeks of a scam that she wants my info on the phone. And I let her know that the company was USAA, not USA & if she was actually legit she should get it right.

USAA just set up a new mortgage handling company. This was my first time to pay them vs paying USAA directly.  They called me and I answered some of their questions wrong and they told me they were wrong answers so I assume this is legit.  I'll add to this note if they call back and it's truly legit.

Scam, someone spoofing usaa phone number

Found this number on the "missed calls" feature of my home phone.  They didn't leave a message... Caller ID said USAA... several comments here said it was suspicious.  I contacted USAA central... it really IS the new mortgage servicing company Nation Star.   The pleasant lady who answered said they are not allowed to leave messages unless the client gives them permission.

I am furious with USAA for "selling" our mortgages to this fly by night debt collection agency. They insist we all be so above board to be 'members" with USAA and this is how they show how much they appreciate our dedicated service men and women. What a sham...

Maybe you should tell USAA that instead of complaining on a forum people are reading to find out if a number is legit...

They sell our mortgage and then raise our car insurance rates within 2 months time. Ugh!!!!! Not pleased :(

Said my mortgage payments to to be switched to another address and gave me PO Box 650660 Dallas TX, 75265 and when I asked for phone number, routing number, I was hung up on. USAA phone numbers are 800 531.......

Just did a refinance with USAA so who at USAA is seller the phone numbers?

This is definitely fraud. Do not give these people any of your personal information, you will regret it.  they called from both 855-430-8489 and 866-636-0534

Didn't recognize the number. Called from (855) 430-8489. Called it back. Said it was USAA Federal Savings Bank serviced by Nationstar. Recording (sounded legitimate) asking to collect information to verify your account (phone # or social security #). Don't know why they would be calling me since I don't have an account with them for anything.
