IF there were REAL charges, you/he would not be warned AND it is illegal to make that threat as well as giving his information to a third party (you).  www.consumerfinance.gov & your state attorney general like to hear about calls like this.

They are scammers.  There is no lawsuit, no papers are being served. They use empty threats to try to extort money out of their victims.  They claim to be a law office but none of their lawyers have names or mailing addresses lol.   Laugh at them and hang up.

Said l only have one chance to respond but the number she gave to call back 855-435-3587 was not the number she called from 601-274-3708...never said the office name but gave a case number...and I'm NOT the person she said the claim is for🤣🤣

Called saying they were trying to find my sister, gave my daughter's name, and that they had been to her address to serve her, that she needed to call 855-435-3587 before they served her at her job. Funny story, she will be starting a new job soon and isn't working right now. 😂 They called from a local number, twice. I only answered because it was close to our local hospital and I thought something happened to a family member.

This number called me yesterday and left a message stating my case came across her desk this morning and she was giving me one chance to contact them along with a case number. No name of company, and no information as to what the "case" was in regards too. After leaving me that message she called a close friend of mine asking for me. She told her that I had a case against me and I needed to call this number back. Again no company name. She was very rude to my friend and myself but I also don't think she was expecting both of us to be as rude back) So this morning I wake up to a missed call from a local number and when I checked the message it is this same woman "Tracy Pierce". She proceeds to threaten me and again gives me no identify information. I called her back and she wanted to verify my social and DOB. I laughed and told her that was not happening. She would not give me any information after that. I informed her I would call the county I was in and find out about any cases against me. Seeing how the local law enforcement knows how to find me they could send the "process" as she called it to my house and hung up on her. She then called a job I hadn't worked at in 2 years. definite scam!

Angela Morales called and said I was going to be served. She called from a local number. Didn’t even verify who she was speaking to. I hung up so she called from another number and said she was by my husband’s job. I’m not even married. Claimed to be a process server with the courts.

The fake process server/location finder extortion SCAM usually consists of the following:

They mention that they have received a Fax document or some sort of complaint and that there is a pending legal matter or action about to filed against you to create the sense of urgency.  They tell you that they are a “process server” and cannot give you the particulars of the case since the file is sealed. This is simply ruse to get you to call another number (often with a made-up case number) where they will ask for money to “make it go away” (this is actually the same place, they work in teams, one pretending to be the server, and the other usually pretends to be a lawyer).  They threaten to serve you at home or at work.  They tell you that if they serve you at work then they will need a supervisor, security, or HR person there as a witness, hoping that will cause you to panic over the alleged embarrassment of being served at work.  They also tell you that you will need two forms of ID.  None of which is true.  Process servers do not ever call ahead so that you can dodge them.  Process servers get paid to serve papers, nothing else.  They certainly are not going to pass up a paycheck by telling you that you can avoid being served, they are not going to give you an extra day or even a few hours to get a “stop order”.  Court documents are time sensitive and must be served within a certain amount of time.  Remember that you can always call the local courthouse to see if there really is a lawsuit that has been filed against you.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.  If and when you get that letter you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.

First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file complaints with the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#crnt&panel1-1

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

I received a phone calls today from a united litigation, who proceeded to tell me they were coming to arrest me if I did not make a payment against my personal loan. They proceeded to go to my previous employer, and ask if I was there a woman by the name of Angela Morales contacted me saying she works with United litigation and was in the parking lot of my previous employer. She proceeded to say to call the united litigation, the gentleman who called name is Jeff Corbin, and make a payment plan. I proceeded to contact them back. They then began to get hostile, rude and threatening. They still continued to say they were having Angela and her partner come to my home and have me arrested and wait for a court hearing in front of the judge. They proceeded to ask me if my 77 year old grandfather was hostile, and that it is recommended I get my two children out of the home. I contacted my loan company who had no idea of this company, the gentleman or Angela, and proceeded to tell me that they were going to send my complaint in to supervisor. I then began a little bit of research trying to Google the phone numbers that have been contacting me. I’ve then decided to contact legal services of New Jersey. They told me that it is absolutely illegal and that I was either the victim of a terrible scam, or a sex trafficking, they knew the people in my home, they proceeded to contact my mother who is at work, and again my previous employer. Like I stated, they physically went to my previous employer. Nobody has come to my home as of yet, and I filed a police report.

This is a common debt collection extortion scam.  I don't know where everyone thinks that everything is sex trafficking.  You should have contacted the following agencies:

Yes they did. Because it is a real thing. People and children are trafficked everyday..unfortunately they don’t tell you about that on the news.. people need to wake up. These scammers aren’t just about getting you to pay them money. They’ll gladly snatch your child up for even more money. God forbid that happens to anyone. Seriously people need to watch everything and question everything!
