- Kathy| 2 repliesI have received several calls since 6/12, from 912-446-0054, telling me there they have received legal documents and if I don’t call them I will be served with legal documents. Two times they have listed my name this last call today, 6/25, was using my SS number. Same message, I am to call 855-487-1329, for mediation. Don’t say who they are and what exactly they want. I haven’t returned their call, figure they can send me whatever paperwork they actually have and I will go from there!!!! There is nothing on my credit report showing any judgments or anything!!!

- MeAZ623I got the same message and I called them back. It goes to a voicemail saying financial recovery group ... I'm so sick of all these scams !
- Caller: Financial recovery group
- MeAZ623So like a [***] I actually called back and asked for their information such as website and email. They provided " diversemediation.com" I looked up the website and no phone number is listed but I saw on the website that they do not collect debt and that there are people impersonating them. I reached out to the owner via Facebook and she said do not call them send them money or documents. They are being impersonated and they are getting debt information that has already been paid or leaked and scamming people out of their money .
- Caller: SCAM!!!
- ShannonGot a scam robo call from 352-269-9345, saying to call this # referenced for mediation to a legal matter

- Christie| 2 repliesI am receiving calls almost everyday from 855-487-1329 not for me but for my 29 year old son. They give the last digits of his SS number and say they will serve papers to him if he doesn’t call the number back. This is very scary that they have my number and part of his SS number! What other information do they have? There is no company name given in the voicemails left.
- BigA replies to ChristieOne of the tricks they use is to call your family, friends, neighbors and/or places of employment (past or present or both) to create panic and embarrassment so that their intended victim calls them and they can scare that person into paying their extortion money. They often call people that have never even been associated with you because they get erroneous information off of the internet.
The fake process server/location specialist scam usually contains:
They mention that they have received a Fax document or that some sort of complaint has “come across my desk” and that there is a pending legal matter or action about to filed against you to create the sense of urgency. They tell you that they are a “process server” and cannot give you the particulars of the case since the file is sealed. This is simply ruse to get you to call another number (often with a made-up case number) where they will ask for money to “make it go away” (this is actually the same place, they work in teams, one pretending to be the server, and the other usually pretends to be a lawyer). They threaten to serve you at home or at work. They tell you that if they serve you at work they need a supervisor, security, or HR person there as a witness, hoping that will cause you to panic over the alleged embarrassment of being served at work. They also tell you that you will need two forms of ID. None of which is true. Process servers do not ever call ahead so that you can dodge them. Process servers get paid to serve papers, nothing else. They certainly are not going to pass up a paycheck by telling you that you can avoid being served, they are not going to give you an extra day or even a few hours to get a “stop order”. Court documents are time sensitive and have to be served within a certain amount of time. Remember that you can always call the local courthouse to see if there is actually a lawsuit that has been filed against you.
It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it. You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter, email, or text (postmarked in the case of a letter) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. Unless they have communicated it to you verbally at the beginning of your conversation. It also must contain the “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this communication must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified. If and when you get that communication you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.
First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

They apparently told people I'm getting served and that I need to call them at 855-487-1329 for mediation. I don't owe money to anyone. This is a scam like many others on here are saying.

- DieselJim| 1 replyI'm wondering if this scam has anything to do with updating info on the SSI website. I updated my info and the following day I got an email about my Social Administration statement, only it had some off brand return address and I didn't open it. Now, a week later, I got the same threatening recording like everyone else has stated.
- Caller: Don't recall
- BigA replies to DieselJimWhere did you come up with that ridiculous idea?

compare PAREIDOLIA - BaddDadd5150| 2 repliesMy son (a minor child) received two messages from this 855-487-1320 arbritors threatening further legal action since they've made several attempts at contacting my minor son at both home and ( teeheehee ) at his place of employment. Well since I don't know where my 11 year old sons place of employment is and apparently they do, I'll have to find them and get the info so I'll know where my boy works at and start charging him rent!! I will find them and inform this site when I do. Do not return any calls like this from the phone you received the call from it will confirm the data info they purchased from a data broker and then...boy oh boy. Stay tuned

- Nimrod replies to BaddDadd5150| 1 replyWell, I guess you are a "BaddDadd" for letting your son wrack up all that (fictitious) debt that they would claim he owes should you call them back. As they usually play the scam, he would have (supposedly) incurred that debt back at a time when he was merely a glimmer in your eye.
Also, shame on you for not knowing where your son is "employed", a father should keep track of those things. ;-) - post pending moderator approval
