Received a threating call, have no idea who this is

Clients Received three threatening calls to different family members from this number.  They threaten to lock the house and take everyone to court.  They cannot do this.  Legitimate debt collectors will take you off the list if you ask.  You do not need to answer 8xx- calls .. legitimate people will leave messages.  Stay calm, use your callerID, realize that is is a scam, and if you happen to answer, just hang-up.

My brother had received a call from this number.  Adam Mitchel claimed to be a NJ Court processor looking to find me for check fraud (I dont write checks!!).  My husband, stationed in KS, got the same call & called me freaking out saying I was wanted for check fraud.  No calls to me.  So i call the number and I automatically start freaking out on the lady who answered b/c how dare they call my family, or anyone, with personal information like that.  She freaked right back out on me & I called her an expletive & hung up.  I calmed down, called back.  They said it was for a payday loan in 2008 from Vista Holdings.  Well, I just paid off a payday loan for them from what i'm now thinking was another scammer.  They wanted paperwork, I was driving & couldnt provide it & had just paid the final payment this past Friday..  she said I'd be served this Tuesday (today) and hung up on me.  I called the company I just paid and they provided me paperwork that it was paid in full... bottom line, this is a scam artist. I called & told them not to call me or my family again or i'd file a lawsuit for defamation and harassment
