Caller states they are collecting for a house security contract over 5-7 years old.  Gave me an account number that was 4 digits - Said the company only deals with HIGH END CUSTOMERS.  I've never had a home security system etc.  I also advised them it didn't show up on my credit report, etc.
He said the company LIKED me so they are giving me the chance to pay before it goes on my credit report.  I told him shame on you for being a scammer, and karma WILL get him - get a real job.

Got vague TEXT message about 50% off "the matter".   Sent to my adult child on my personal cell phone.
I did not return the call.

I got a text for them looking for a guy named Richard with my last name. Called and let them know, I am not him. Got another text today.

Unwanted Text Messages

Forward unwanted text messages to 7726 so that carriers will block them. Some carriers do not accept that code and if that is the case then contact your carrier about how to block unwanted text messages, however 7726 is accepted in the US, Canada, and Great Britain. Also, never, ever click on a link in a text message as it will probably install something nasty to your phone that you really will not want to deal with and never, ever respond to one because lets them know that they have a good number with someone on the other end.  It will result in more calls and texts.

This is probably the work of one of the famous Buffalo Bullies who are criminal debt scammers. Never talk to this crooks.

If you gave the person a chance to speak, you might have got something other than a "thank you for calling..." before hanging up.  All you have posted about is you got a call, called back and didn't want to find out who it was or what they wanted.

called the number back from my work phone, went to a voicemail with some guy and it hangs up without letting you leave a msg.  googled the number and this popped up.

Same thing happened to me

Received a text from 716-426-1045 asking to call back 855-510-1666 regarding a CHECK N GO account that has been reported past due. The name referred in the text is my deceased ex-mother in law who has been gone for nearly 5 years now.
