are they legitimate?

these people took me to court my lawyer told me that if iwould have called their office than icould have avoided paying over 2000 dollars for a 350 dollar loan they are legit

mark what kind of loan was this...was it a pay day loan

Marshal Davis called with a very threatening call to attach wages, serve legal papers and wanted payment with a credit card immediately without any email or mail from their company.  They would not give me any info on what the debt was for or who.  
Also, could not get them to give me an address or any information about their company.  Sounded like a scam to me.

I received a similar threatening phone call.  First, they are violating so many FCRA regs its ridiculous, they cannot threaten to garnish wages, or take your property or say you will go to jail.  You can ask them to send you a letter indicating what is owed, who the original creditor is etc.  They have 5 days to respond with that info.  Chances are they won't as putting anything in the mail becomes mail fraud since they are not legit.  A legit organization would not operate this way and the county has waaayy too many cases to actually call someone up and tell them of a pending case.  You can also go to the counties websites and get info if you have any pending cases on yourself.  Even if you were officially served papers, which I doubt will happen, you have 30 days to respond.  I had someone call claiming to be from San Bernardino County summons and processing division, rofl, no such department and the idiot left his name so they also checked for that individual as an employee with the county and surprise no such person exists.  I've reported them to the FBI which I suggest everyone here do the same.  These people are predators and nothing more. In addition, my attorney told me to tell them when they call that I am recording them and reporting them for violations under FCRA, so far they haven't called again.

Received a call from the phone number above claiming I owed money to a company call My Loan and it was with First Resource Credit Union which I do not even have an account there or a loan from that company.   They said that I would be served to appear in court for $150.00 that i owed.  They would not accept payment unless i gave them my bank information only.  Please let me know if this company is Legitiamate?  They said they are called Provident. Talked to my lawyer an said should give him no information especially banking information.  Please advise
