They said they were from Capital One credit card fraud bureau, stating that someone was attempting to open a line of credit in my name.I did not call the number they wanted a call back on, but called Capital One fraud bureau actual number from their site. The call was a fraud.( the call actually sounded legitimate.)

This person called me too saying they were trying to help me with a loan. Looked like a local number to me as well but had a horrible time making out the number the girl left for a returned phone call. And I received other phone called from a different number saying I was involved in a suit of action like some kind of law suit. I called it back n it was another foreigner who I could not understand until he said "Listen this is not a fcking joke u listen to me." I said it excuse me. Then started talking about 1,000.00 for ea h person. I thought good Lord why am I getting these calls n all of a sudden I got super upset n said "No, now u listen do not call my number again or I will get u for harassment." My husband was livid n said just hang up on them dumbasses. It was so weird I told him.

I had looked at some rent to own homes and had some questions. I got a call from Maria who left me a voice mail to call this phone number so she could help with any questions I may have. Now I'm nervous to call her back. The phone # did come up as a nebraska number. Perhaps they put in an area code local to the person they are calling?

Freedom financial... called from a local # and left a v-mail to call this #. Weird thing is that I never applied for anything and the person they were asking for was not even me. Constant calling for 3 days in a row.

I was looking into debt consolidation from The Penny Hoarder website. Took me to this "Freedom Financial" and before I submitted, I noted at the bottom in small print that it was for an attorney.  I didn't want an attorney.  Less than 2 minutes after leaving the site, not submitting the form, I get a call from what appeared to be a local number but since I didn't recognize, I let it go to voicemail. Some Asian lady calling from what sounded like "Fidel Financial" at 855-522-9232 and they wanted me to call for a consultation. Uh, no thanks.

I too received a vm from a local number asking me call back this 855 number.  I did call back, was very hesitant to give any information.  I am working with a debt settlement company (Clear One Advantage), so I called their direct line and they did confirm that it was one of their reps calling me.  My advice to anyone who gets the same kind of call -- Do not give any information to them.  Just be pleasant and tell them thank you but you feel more comfortable calling the number that you are familiar with.  Better to be safe than sorry.
