Same thing just happened to me. They called me in reference to my girlfriend. Then left a reference number.

I refuse to give it to her then she gave the last 4 of the social which wasn't even mine

Would not give me business name, but said they were looking to discuss 'business matters' with a former in-law.  Suspect debt collector

Three different people has been calling for a couple of weeks, leaving a message and call back number which I've ignored (asking for  Nicole). Today I answered and questioned how she could have the number we've had since 2002? She apologized and I hung up! We will see if this works!

Called my cell looking for my brother, left a reference number but no company name. I'm not calling back

Called and left a voice mail. The lady used my maiden name and wanted to talk about someone who's name is couldn't understand. When I called back I was put on hold then the line disconnected.

These people have been calling and harassing me for five years. Each time I tell them not to call me again, they just hang up on me. They will keep calling you even though you tell them to stop. They use made up names, made up file numbers, and are scammers looking to defraud people of their money. Report them to donotcall.gov

Student loan debt collectors.  When they can't find the person directly,  they contact all of their relatives and friends asking nosy questions.

Called my husband and myself about a family member. Awkward.

very nice man left message asking me to call back because I was a reference listed for my brother, they knew my name and my brother’s.

Left a voicemail.  Caller said her name was Andrea Baker, and she was calling in regards to David Pentalamoniak (phonetic).  "Andrea" also said to use Reference ID 14190171.  I should return her phone call from the police station so she will see it come up as such and maybe that will scare her.

It says it's General Revenue Corporation, which is legitimate debt collection service primarily specialing in student loans. However, I think that's a lie. I think they are posing as that company to have an air of legitimacy in order to better scam people. Don't trust.

Nope, I am sure it is them, as they are well known to use everything but legitimate means to collect debts.

Left message for some on known name. Regarding debt collection. Did not call back and blocked the call
