- CarlaI have received several calls from this number. When you call back it is for a company called LSU. The company does not exist. This is some scam. They told me I would have a warrant for my arrest if I did not pay a past due balance for some payday loan that I have never even had. This company said they would send the police to my home and work if I did not pay. When I rebutted that my lawyer would contact them they proceeded to tell me that I could not contact my lawyer. They were already processing my warrant and I could not use my lawyer. Then told me to pay them court fees and other misc. fees to stop the police from coming to arrest me because I am a criminal. I then very politely told the woman that I have never even had a speeding ticket let alone ever done anything to be criminally charged for. So please beware!!! Be smart. Ask questions and then have a lawyer contact the number that called you. These scams are on the FBI website and becoming very common. They will have information about you that is public information. They will probably have the last 4 of your social. Whatever you do just tell them your lawyer will contact them directly .

- DMW| 1 replyBack in Dec I also received several calls from them, unfortunately I did have a payday loan I needed to take care of and agreed. Same scenario, identical to Carla's experience. I did however pay over 400 dollars over the course of 4 months and my loan was only 300. The last payment I made in March ,I asked for the remaining balance,he claimed it wouldn't come up on his system, he was "Locked out ".. and i told him i should be payes up..why should i pay an additional amount for court costs and lawyers fees? He did not have an answer. On my next attempt to call in, the number was disconnected. I did a reverse number search and a check online and found this site and a few others complaining about the same issue .I found the original number they called me from And called in And told them I did some research and they only have a p.o box associated with their number..they will not give their physical address, they claim for security reasons. I said you have my address ..isn't it only fair I have their number. I told them they will be hearing from my lawyer and told assciates if they were not aware it is a scam..they are aware now...that was april 7,2014. They will be sued and THEY will be the ones being hauled off to jail!!!!!!

- CarrieGot a call from a blocked number, lady said they were with my local court house, requesting a court appearance. After speaking to a lady she transferred me to her "supervisor" who said he was an attorney in New York (I live in Florida). They said I would end up having to pay over $1000 due to somebody taking a loan out in my name in 2013. They threatened that they would take my vehicle and seize all of my assets (I have none). I asked why the first lady told me she was calling from the court house and he said she was calling on behalf of the court house. I called my local Clerk of Courts and there is nothing pending under my name.

- RmeI got the call today from a private # leaving me the 855-545-0249 as a call back....said her name was Bridget. I don't respond to telephone solicitations anyways, but just an FYI if it don't come by certified or registered mail it is not real. The first call, Bridget told me that service would be within 24 hours, and the second call, Bridget told me I had 48 hours...the least they can do is get the story straight.

- zincoI got the same scam call today. The phone number they told me to call back was 855-545-0249 but the number on the caller ID was 281-616-8368.
Using *67 on my phone, which hides my caller ID, I tried calling them back on the 855 number but there was no answer so I call the 281 number off the caller ID and some guy picked it up. I told him he has been reported to the FTC and hung up.
If any of you people who get these calls want to call them back to harass them make sure you hide your caller information otherwise they will keep pestering you and maybe that is the reason no one answers at the 855 number. It may be there to see who returns their call so they know for sure an actual person is living at your number so they can continue to call over and over.
My credit is good and I think I would be the first person to know if I have any bad checks going around out there. These people are so stupid for not figuring that out but I guess some people get scared, call them back and make payment arrangements for a debt that doesn't exist.- Caller: NA

- Harold| 1 replyIf anyone would like to know, I have found information to the EAG LLC company. They are located at 610 Ridge Rd Lackawanna, NY 14218. They are running an illegal operation scam for payday loans. Do NOT pay these people. This office is ran by a man named Daniel Bienko. To file any sort of charges contact the local Att. General for Buffalo, NY. They will be able to assist you. This company is NOT legal services.

- Joan| 13 repliesI got a call from these people and It seemed sketchy at first. So I looked on the Internet and found this after typing in their information. I became more skeptical and I called the original creditor I borrowed from and the debt was in fact with them. After I paid it they sent me a letter stating I was paid up. They actually saved me some money on my loan.

- Alfalfa replies to Joan| 5 repliesRubbish. This is a known scam debt collector making illegal threats of arrest for payday loans.
How can I verify whether or not a debt collector is legitimate?
Here are a few warning signs that could signal a debt collection scam:
The debt collector threatens you. Legitimate debt collectors probably won't claim that they'll have you arrested or claim that they or their employees are law enforcement officers.
The debt collector refuses to give you information about your debt or is trying to collect a debt you do not recognize. You have certain rights to ask a debt collector to verify the debt. You can use this sample letter to request this information. Ask for an explanation in writing before you pay.
The debt collector refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number.
The debt collector asks you for sensitive personal financial information. You should never provide anyone with your personal financial information unless you are sure they're legitimate.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his or her name, company, street address, telephone number, and professional license number. Many states require debt collectors to be licensed. Check the information the caller provides you with your state officials, or the state in which the debt collector holds a license. If the caller refuses or is unable to provide you with information about his company, or if you can’t verify the information he provides, do not give money to the caller or company.
Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." This notice must include:
The amount of the debt
The name of the creditor you owe
A description of certain rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, consider requesting this information in writing or seeking assistance before paying the debt to make sure the debt, and the company, are valid.
Tip: You can consider sending the collector a letter requesting the information by using one of the CFPB's sample letters. You can also submit a complaint to the CFPB or you can contact your state Attorney General’s office.
Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know the company or person you are talking with is a real debt collector. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft such as:
Charging your existing credit cards
Opening new credit card or checking accounts
Writing fraudulent checks
Taking out loans in your name
Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
Report the call. Submit a complaint with the CFPB or get in touch with your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers.
Stop speaking with the caller. If nothing else works and you believe the calls are fraudulent, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files.
Tip: You can use this sample letter to write a letter demanding the debt collector stop contacting you. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
Tip: If you're having trouble with debt collection, you can submit a complaint with the CFPB online or by calling (855) 411-CFPB (2372).
http://www.consumerfinance.gov/ - Gunnar replies to Joan| 4 repliesLikely story....
You are a Shill. You state "after I paid them..." You've just given yourself away. People who find this site are immediately told to NEVER pay a supposed debt collector a dime until a notice of validation has been received by mail (NOT e-mail or fax.) & has been verified. If you have a letter from this (your) fraud shop then you have a return address. POST it! Don't bother giving us that box number to their (your) fraud shop either. We can check those faster than their (your) auto-dialer can burp.
I noticed that you used the word "sketchy". No surprise there. NY scammers hear that word every day. Just like they hear the word "skeptical". Frauds in WNY hear a lot of words all day long. They sit in cheap chairs spouting BS 8 hours a day. It's nice that you're expanding your vocabulary. It's just too bad that you'll never have a real job to use it in.
Skeff Ett Liv!
Gunnar - Joan replies to Alfalfa| 3 repliesYea. Not rubbish. I contacted the original creditor and they gave me the number to get redirected to the supposed scam your speaking about.
- Joan replies to Gunnar| 3 repliesSorry Gunnar that YOU can't handle the fact that your wrong in this instance. And to pick apart my vocabulary like your better than me. Not very professional.

Are you referring to the Executive Acquisition Group, located in Buffalo, NY?
Aren't they the folks who claim to represent the Bahamas Media Group?
In any case, did EAG send you a "Validation Notice" within 5 days of their initial call, or did you conduct all your negotiations with them over the phone?
Are you also a New York resident ...
And ... was this a Payday Loan or some other kind of loan?
