I received the phone call from John Cawtor  (tel. # 1.855-545-0256) that my computer was blocked and I should pay $200 to unblock it. Who is this person and and whose this telephone #?

"i can see their work on my devices"  You have more than one device?  Was that natural or did you have an operation for that?

    David -

You made a couple of claims that need additional info, to be believeable:

    >> they already serving me for 3 years <<
Since you have been working with "them" for so long, who exactly are they?
What is their complete business address and website?

    >> Call Type: Non-profit Organization <<
How can any BUSINESS be a non-profit organization, yet ask for payment for their services?
    Creative book keeping?

Got a "Windows Security Alert" popped up in my browser and called the #855-325-1775 to troll them a bit. Super heavy Indian accent on the other end told me to enter www.supportforme.com into IE (I use Firefox). When I hung up to research the scam, my phone immediately got a call from 855-545-0256. Coincidence? Nope! If a web page starts blabbing about security alerts, use task manager to stop the browser or just reboot.

That link is being used to call a script for remote access from the actual website of fastsupport.com. They have a "GoToAssist" portal that also displays a warning message the scammers don't want anyone to see:
    Quote:
Be cautious if you receive unsolicited requests to access your computer.
Only join support sessions with people you recognize and trust. Report abuse

    Message from Microsoft:
    Quote:
Remember, Microsoft will never proactively reach out to you to provide unsolicited PC or technical support. Any communication we have with you must be initiated by you.

Cybercriminals often use publicly available phone directories, so they might know your name and other personal information when they call you. They might even guess what operating system you're using.

Once they've gained your trust, they might ask for your user name and password or ask you to go to a legitimate website (such as www.ammyy.com) to install Remote Access software that will let them access your computer to pretend to fix it. Once you do this, your computer and your personal information are vulnerable.

Do not trust unsolicited calls. Do not provide any personal information. Do not allow them access.
