So did my husband, it's a scam.  They will threaten you with a warrant and arrest regarding a check you never wrote and then call again and say you borrowed money with collateral.  These criminals need to be stopped.  Caller is RE Allen and number is 855-545-8116.  BEWARE

This is a scam, they claim to be a law firm and they are investigators. They have called my family, extended and In-Laws as well...Saying I did Check Fraud and are going to put a warrant out for my arrest if I do not contact them with in 48 hours. When speaking to them, they also said that I had 48 hours to send the funds or again, face a warrant for my arrest.
One, if you look at the law for what bill collectors are aloud to do...They can call your family if they cannot get a hold of you, how ever they can not give out any information as to why they are trying to get a hold of you. Two, you will not have a warrant out for your arrest for ANY debt....(the whole of USA would be in jail if this was true) Three, they CANNOT threaten to put you in Jail or Threaten for a warrant for your arrest. This is a form of manipulation and is considered harassment.
If ANY one calls you claiming to be a Law Firm, they have to Provide proof they are legally able to practice law in your state. If they cannot provide or refuse to give you this, report it to your local authorities.
If you receive any calls from this number report all information to your local authorities. Contact the BBB (Better Business Bureau) also make sure that you check your credit, also look into putting protection on your social security number including all family members.

This person called me from this number 1-855-545-8116  Investogator  (Heron) from no company name telling me i comited ssi fraud and must call return,so i called ssi had them call that number and you cant get thur on that number you should call the federal trade comission and get a reff# for that case.dont be scamed

'Investigator' RE Allen investigating check fraud involving 'Marquita Bachs', call back 855-545-8116, extension 4604- sounded fishy- I did not return the call after reading the other messages for this number.

My in-laws are getting calls from this number from a "Chief Investigator Victor Golden" asking for me saying that I have done the things just like Scam posted above.  Is there anyway to stop these calls?

I recieved a call from 855-545-8116 also and I didnt have any of these problems you all are talking about. To my suprise they were actually just the opposite. I had taken out a cash advance in 2007 and I owed and forgot about. The balance was over $1000 and they actually settled it for pennies on the dollar. I am glad I got this resovled because rumor has it these loans will begin to be reported to the credit bureau. I have finally gotten my credit straightened out and about to purchase my first house!!! But these guys were very proffesional and curteous, and willing to help in anyway they could! They even sent me verification of my debt and a settled letter so this doesnt come back on me later.

I wish these people handled my past debts....

FYI I cut and pasted this from a post- I received the same call from "Slayton"- virtually same threats.

Haven't had the chance to call here back- do not think I will- she is persistent though. Gave me a case number and advised I have my lawyer call.

Also- fyi she is calling from 678-951-9692 (caller id) - this seems to be a cell phone in Atlanta area.

This person left a message “investigator Smith” said he was working with a firm called Thompson and Williams. He told me that I have a complaint against me and that I need to call him before the end of the day.  He gave a 4605 Ext and a case number. The first thing I did was look up the phone number on the Internet and read all the comments and my hunch was right.  So I went to my police department. And called the BBB.  I won’t reply to the caller.

this foools called me today and left a message. Investigotor slayton she calls her self and want me to call ASAP today about some shty against me.

These people have left multiple messages on my cell. I finally called back today and they said Sylvia Santellana, a housekeeper who has committed check fraud -- gave them (Thomas and Williams, lawyers) my cell phone number. They realized it was a mistake and claim I am now on their do not call list.

i think you work for this company.  i work for an attorney and what this company says on the phone is total crap.  i too have gotten a phone call from these people saying that i need to call them back with personal informationn or i'm going to be arrested, or they need to serve me with a summons. if you have to serve a summons, you already know where it is going to be served.  i'm not going to give personal info to them because all the people i owe money to, have that info already.  these company use scare tatics because not everyone knows the law and believes what they say.  we have had clients call our office freaking out because they have gotten phone calls from this company or companies like this one.  they are in violation of the law, but they don't care.

This number is calling me too! They say something about a bad check I wrote..........

I used to get calls from some other "Law Office" (I can't remember their name) and looked this up online and it was the same thing!

The voice on the recording I am getting now from the number 855-545-8116 is the SAME voice as the other "LAW OFFICE"

I understand that it's a scam but I dont see what they are after........I would hope nowadays NO ONE would give their bank acct info over the phone.

I called the number on my caller ID 855-545-8116 and a person answered with "fraud department". I looked up twrecovery.com and there is no listing on the web site for a fraud dept. actually the web site is for a debt collection agency. NO mention of fraud anywhere!

My husband got a call from this company this morning also, they said that our bank that we have been working with over 15 years hired them, and he needs to call them back ASAP to settle the situation, what ever that might be! We put a block on the number :)

Well Terry the only person who would be putting a statement like that on here is one of the employees of the company. So just know now when you or one of your co workers caled my father and told him I commited check fraud and a warrent would be issued for my arrest then RE Allen called a message number of mine and left a message saying he was investigating a check fraud I commited and Victor Goldne called and left me a voice mail saying he had a warrent in his hand and was having it sent to my local county you all messed up. All of the calls have been recorded, they are all in the hands of an attorney guess you need to check and see what someone does for a living before you leave those kinds of messages.

My parents just got a call early this morning (Saturday) saying I had committed fraud. If you google your name it gives family members names and they call any that have a listed phone number. It scared my elderly folks! They (Thomas and Williams) have my cell number now and left a message that they would file with my county if I didn't settle this debt. And they called it fraud. I do have a couple unpaid payday loans I couldn't pay from 2007 when I lost my job. But they have written me off. I have a book about collection agency's and know what they say! Being able to look up their number and find out who they are and I am not in trouble over this is great!

If they're really attorney's then they should've done their research on whom the person they're looking for. I mean really done their research. For one, the law is what put them and the person they're looking for in this situation. Two if they think the person they're looking for really cares anything about the law after what the law has done to him and his brother's then they're F'n wrong. Three if they plan on bringing the law to my front door step then make sure they send in the swat team cause they're going to get what they're looking for.
