Just got a call from this number. When I picked it up, there was no answer and the call was disconnected.

get calls from this number and several others, don't answer because I don't recongnize it, all i get is hangups when answering machine picks up , this goes on several times a day all the time.

I do not answer unless I know who is calling and I sure do not know who the hell this is.

its the caller id for a student loan collection agency. the # they gave for callback is different - 877-402-5814

I received a call from this number with no message and no call back ability.

Caller ID says NDS/Dept. of Ed.   Doesn't sound as if its the Dept. of Education. Thanks for the info on this board.

My caller id said UNITED STATES Government, but they never leave a message?
No clue who they are, but they do call a lot.

Got a FINAL Notice promotion for 2 round trip tickets and 2 nights First Class Accomodations. It has Cheap Tickets all over it but is not associated with Cheap Tickets. $1398.00 value. Actual name of company is nowhere.

This is Nelnet they are calling for your student loan payments.

They left a message saying :
Hi I'm calling you from the legal affairs at the US Department of Treasury that is the Internal Revenue Service. We were trying to reach you in regards to a very important issues this past months and months. We have a legal affidavit concerning the tax fraud on your name that-concrete(?) of agent to reach us out is 1-888-780-6050. I repeat it's 1-888-780-6050. Don't disregard this message and do return the call. If for any reason you're busy to call us back we would suggest you to have your retained attorney to do it for you as delay in calling us back my Dad up into a legal mess. But we will be forced to contact the local authorities and ready to this case against your name. So we'll-that-he(?) justify this matter as quick as possible. Thank you."
Received the same message with a number of 855-558-3710 as well.  Bunch of Bull...
