    Hmmm.

    If that is true,

    * How old is the supposed debt?

    * Who was the original creditor?
    -- was their contact information in the paperwork?

    * Who was the author of the "papers"?
    -- what is the name of the collection company, what is their physical address, and what is their website?

    Without that information, I am afraid we will be unable to believe your SHOUTING, and will consider you to be a shill for whomever calls from that number.

    The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

    •is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
    •refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
    •asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
    •exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

    If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

    •Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
    If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

    •Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

    •Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

    •Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

    •Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

    Marie, please stop wasting your time and ours. We know this is a scam, I've invited (even threatened if you don't show up that I will find you) your company to deliver paperwork to my home or work. No one shows up and you know it! Your company even threatened my parents to have a someone come to their house to verify their SSN, etc. All lies, all just a waste of time, your company and many others are just terrorist and us Americans will not fall for it.

    This show is getting old and can't wait to meet you in person in court...... It's coming, so expect someone at your door!

    This company is yet another poser (debt collector wantabe) trying to collect on a bogus PDL. They actually called my parent to verify I did not live there. Then proceeded to tell them a servicer is coming to their house to verify their SSN, etc. Really? Come on give me a break, you can do better than that. I'll give you a hint who I am, "I will find you, I will". Sick of these stupid calls, they are getting boring even though I love calling back and giving you a hard time.

    People of the USA, don't fall for this crap, no one will show at your door. If they threaten that they are going to deliver court paperwork, ask what court system they are using so you can call and verify. They will either hang up or crumble and say some other excuse. Invite them to dinner, they won't show their faces cause they are terrorist trying to steal money and us.

    2. You owe an unpaid payday loan
    3. You have a warrant due to an unpaid loan
    5. You will receive a court summons
    6.  Authorities are coming to arrest you

     a.   Do not give them any information or verify any information for them
     b.   Tell them you know they are a scam operating illegally and that you are   filing a complaint with the  appropriate authorities
    * File a complaint with the FBI on their Internet Crime webpage     http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx
    * File a complaint with the Attorney General for the state you live in
    The more information and complaints there are, the better the chance of getting these criminals to stop (or at least reduce the frequency).    [abstracted from another site]

    They continue to bother  you, tell them you are going to the police to make a complaint of extortion.
