Is this a legitimate virus removal number? A virus warning was reported on my computer with this number to call.

malware/spyware message on PC and was told to call this number.

Agents that want to access your computer. References "Best Buy" it is NOT legitimate.

It is a scam and they have no ties to the company.

They are the same people that install the viruses/malware on your computer. They pretend to work with Microsoft but they are nothing but scammers!

This number was listed for reporting slow computer or possible virus attack, and my computer wont actually move from that screen and when you call they are just hanging up. One time the guy said "we are having computer problems", the next attempt "we are having technical issues" and hang up, no salutations nothing the next attempt,  "that's not our problem" the browser has "cox communication url" and I am actually a cox customer....very absurd.

There are several reasons for seeing a "blue screen of death" or a sudden virus warning on one's computer.
Some are valid, and many may be caused by downloading malware, or visiting an infected site.  Your complaint seems to be related to a browser hijack from an infected site ... do NOT call that 855 number back!

If you see the message ONLY with your browser,
-- google "browser hijack", and try some of the solutions seen there.

If you see the message pretty much all the time,
-- download the anti-malware program from malwarebytes.com (or another legitimate site)
-- run it
--  Make sure you check the boxes that say "PUPs" (Potentially Unwanted Programs)

If none of that works, you may have to visit your local computer repair shop, or restore your system from a backup created before you saw the "virus warning".


DO NOT CALL THAT PHONE NUMBER!
