Another typical scare scam. Incoming call comes up on Caller ID as coming from a local number ("spoofed") & they are allegedly from the "Department Of Legal Services Advocate Program" (whatever the hell that means LMFAO) located in Depew NY. They then proceed to tell you that you're being sued for some outstanding cash advance, payday loan, or funds transfer from 5-10 years ago because the "statue of limitations" is about to expire. They try to scare you by hitting you with some personal info, like the last 4 of your social or bank account number. As always, once you start asking them questions & probe for details, the whole scheme begins to fall apart, because the goal is to keep the details vague yet scare you enough to coerce you to pay up over the phone -- If they can't get you to pay them within a few minutes of that first call, then they will normally hang up. We initially spoke with a "Mrs. Jones" until she became frazzled & hung up on us. We then tried calling back on her "direct number" which she gave us (855-315-6086) but of course it was a non-working number. We then called back at the main number & were hung up on, placed on hold by a "Michael Robinson", then eventually could only get a voicemail....Don't fall for it!!!

This same thing happened to me just now but I didn't answer the phone and Mrs. Jones left me a message exactly the same as stated by Pittsburgh Scam Gurus. She spit out the last 4 of my social and said I was being sued and she worked for the "Department Of Legal Services Program" and wanted to get my statement before I was served. I immediately new it was a scam. No court system is going to call and tell you you're about be served if you don't call us back to get your statement. "Bottom line" if you don't know the phone number let them leave a message. If they don't leave a message then it wasn't that important in the first place. Remember! if you don't know the number don't answer it.

Hello I got a call from an unknown caller to ask if I was available to be served tomo. I told them I don’t know what this is about so they gave me this number to call. These people have my full social security number and my drivers license and address. Would this be a legit call or fraud

Fraud. REAL process servers don't call in advance.

I just got a call from Mrs. Jones. She used the last 4 of my social. Telling me legal actions were filled against me and papers sent to my house. She was giving me the opportunity to give a formal statement.  I tried calling back and was pleased on a very long hold before deciding to hang up because I found similar post for this number. This same thing happened a few years ago and I was told by the state district attorney it was a scam.
