- ChristalI have been getting calls for days, they have a summons for me on a bad check. I told them that I wanted to see proof of the check, & I wanted proof of where I had gotten a loan he says "that is something that I cannot give you it was and ach debit" well the way I see it "If they cannot give me proof of when & where & what then it did not happen" I do not remember ever getting a payday loan & the man calling gives me the # 855-583-2047 and a case # but he will not give me his # however when I call the 855-583-2047 it sounds like the same damn man so something is not on the up & up. I feel like if it was a ligitimate debt then they could give me proof & could take a payment threw the mail which he says they cannot do it has to be a money gram, bank accout, or debit care.. Dugh I was born at night but it wasn't last night.. They have called my mom, grandmother (scared her to death), my daughter & my son, making threats that I am going to jail.. I guess if the cops knock on my door then I will deal with it then however until I have some sort of proof I am not going to give them a damn thing...

- ChristalI know they said that mine was back in August of 08 but cannot give me proof of the debt.. I feel that any legitimate debt can be proven & we have the right to see the proof, so with that said "I am not paying them a dime until I see proof" & my next ? is why did they wait 3 years to try to collect? I guess if the cops knock on my door I will know them.

- f**ked in the a**This number is NOT legit. Phillip Schultz with "Integrity management" made me believe I needed to make payments to them for a pay day loan that I hadn't paid, but I did pay it off. Then they try calling me later as a different company "VP Mediation Services" and it was a different person asking for a larger amount. They were rude to me and hung up in my face. Luckily my bank was able to give me all the money they had been taking out without my consent! If these people call do NOT answer. They also called me at 855-760-8955 it's a total scam and my bank and I are prosecuting!!!!!

- Almost got me. replies to falfamuffI received a call from "Paramount" as well. Also, from Brian. it was in regards to a debt from 9 years ago. The nice part of it was that i still had proof that i had paid it. The number i got a call from 18775090396.
Same MO....They said that i had a pending court hearing, and that if i paid it right away, they would stop the court process. They did have some good info to make you believe that the debt was real. They even had the last 4 of my SSN. Make sure to ask all the questions.....He was unable to tell me what county the pending date was in. - Holy CowI am posting this message here, but it also pertains to phone number 678-894-2050. This number possibly belongs to a company who says their name is: Reid and Associates; address 210 Pryor St SW, Suite 218, Atlanta, GA 30303. This number (678-894-2050) is a 'work cell' for 'Elizabeth'. Their e-mail is lreid.assoc@gmail.com or my favorite, Elizabeth's 'personal' e-mail: bensonandfuller@gmail.com (which btw comes up as a third-party collection company in FL). They will claim you have a pay-day loan you never repaid. They will tell you it's going to court and you are facing two felonies if you don't pay THAT day. It isn't true so before you MoneyGram (using the blue and white Express Payment Form, they will tell you) a ton of money, or worse- have them take it out of your bank account- contact a lawyer in your area. I am in Texas so I contacted one in Houston. You cannot be charged with criminal offenses, such as "malicious intent to defraud, etc....' for this. Secondly, the statute of limitations is four years in the U.S. And third, if you do MoneyGram the money, MoneyGram said they are unable to get it back for you. I also contacted the BBB in Atlanta, GA and the Federal Trade Commission and filed a complaint. Tell them not to call and hang up. I knew something was up when they wouldn't provide me with any kind of information.
More info on the MoneyGram- they want you to send it to receive code 7031, company is called VPS, which stands for Vantage Point Service which is why I am also posting this here.
I've tried to provide as much information as I possibly could to help anyone else. I had no idea what this 'payday' loan was from more than four years ago, but was totally freaked out when they started talking felonies. I am so glad that my gut told me to look into it and I did. Hope this helps.- Caller: Reid and Associates

- almost got my a**| 1 replyThese people have been calling my phone this entire week . I made the mistake of answering a phone number i didnt recongnize. I answered the phone and it was "Investigator Miller". First off she was a [***] from the start. Then she started talking felony charges and all this BS and tried to get me to pay over $1300 she even stated that she was just giving me a courtesy call before she sent these papers off to have a warrant sent out for my arrest. I have to admit at first i was a little shocked...but the way she was acting so unprofessional just raised a red flag for me. I started asking her questions that she couldn't answer so she hung up on me. Of course at the time i wasnt sure if this was legit or not so i called her back. Well she answer the phone liek this "oh your calling back oh so now your ready to talk". She then proceeded to say that i had to make a payment today if not i would be arrested. So by this time I had gotten the hint that this was just a collection agency trying to scare me so i played with her a little. I said ok ill give you 300 dollars...boy was she happy and wanted the payment on the spot. Well i then started asking her more questions and eventually she got frustrated and said that i was wasting her time and good luck on my case and proceeded to hang up on me. Well i kid you not....about 3 minutes later i receive a call from a Mrs. Wilcox calling me from phone number 972-546-8592 saying she received information from Investigator Miller that I had agreed to make a payment. so I ask Mrs. Wilcox where shes calling from and she says HOUSTON.....WOW WHAT A DUMBASS..DOES SHE NOT KNOW THAT HER PHONE NUMBER IS A LANDLINE IN DALLAS!!!!! At this point I was done with them...so I tell her as well that im going to make a payment just so they would shut the hell up. Well of course i didnt make a payment and now they are stalking my phone calling from all kinds of different numbers. I have received calls from 972-546-8592 from Dallas Tx, 585-633-0269 from NY and 855-760-8955....they are the same people dont answer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Alfalfa replies to almost got my a**The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:
is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.
Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>
http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt076.shtm - active seekerNew Variation on Telephone Collection Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans
02/21/12—The Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) continues to receive complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. As previously reported in December 2010, the typical payday loan scam involves a caller who claims the victim is delinquent on a payday loan and must make payment to avoid legal consequences.
Callers pose as representatives of the FBI, “Federal Legislative Department,” various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies and claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, or other Internet check-cashing services. The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment in attempts to obtain payment. The callers refuse to provide information regarding the alleged payday loan or any documentation and become verbally abusive when questioned.
The IC3 has observed variations of this scam in which the caller tells the victim that there are outstanding warrants for the victim’s arrest. The caller claims that the basis of the warrants is non-payment of the underlying loan and/or hacking. If it’s the latter, the caller tells the victim that he or she is wanted for hacking into a business’ computer system to steal customer information. The caller will then demand payment via debit/credit card; in other cases, the caller further instructs victims to obtain a prepaid card to cover the payment.
The high-pressure collection tactics used by the fraudsters have also evolved. In one recent complaint, a person posed as a process server and appeared at the victim’s job. In another instance, a phony process server came to a victim’s home. In both cases, after claiming to be serving a court summons, the alleged process server said the victim could avoid going to court if he or she provided a debit card number for repayment of the loan.
If you are contacted by someone who is trying to collect a debt that you do not owe, you should:
■Contact your local law enforcement agencies if you feel you are in immediate danger;
■Contact your bank(s) and credit card companies;
■Contact the three major credit bureaus and request an alert be put on your file;
■If you have received a legitimate loan and want to verify that you do not have any outstanding obligation, contact the loan company directly;
■File a complaint at www.IC3.gov.
