They left a case number and claimed to be a legal department for an attorney's office.  They would provide no names or physical address.

Someone named Leah Williams left msgs saying my husband had numerous complaints that were going to be filed against him at our county circuit court etc, left this number 855-583-4376 as a call back number. She also called all our family cell phones (mine, husbands, daughters) left the same msg.  Then she called my husbands mother, and one of his brothers!  Oh it gets worse...when my husband went to work last night he got called into the office, apparently this person called his employer too! My husband called the county circuit court yesterday to verify there was nothing against him and he was right there was not.  He also talked to the States Attorney to verify and they too had nothing against him.  All these scam calls came from different numbers the ones to the landline phones showed as 'out of the area', one of the cell calls came from an 855 area code, another 917 (NY) area code.   This is crazy stuff.  Harassment! They are making my husband look bad to his employer and family.

Although it is their intent to embarass and intimidate,  I don't think that his employer will look upon your husband badly. Especially if your husband has emplained that he is being scammed.  The scam game is now getting media attention all over and that alone adds credibility to the claim of scam.  He should definately talk to his supervisor or manager,  as well as family,  and make sure that they are all on the same page as to what is going on.  This takes away the scammers bite.  All the scammer really has is his mouth.  Those who will cut that off as a weapon effectively disarms  him.
