They say i won a cruise

Text "Your number was randomly acknowleged for a Free Cruise to the Bahamas. Call 8555951403 to follow up. When I first glanced at this message it had a yahoo e-mail address.

Don't appreciate texts like this on my cell phone since I have to pay for every one.  Where in the heck did they get my number ?

Got a similar text: "You qualified for a free cruise for 2 ppl to the Bahamas - must be 18+ gov port fee $59 - call # 8555951403" from njrrioc@gmail.com

Same thing was sent to me. Is it a spam? Did anyone call the number?

This is a new (or not) variant on the old "win" a "free" cruise scam to get you to a high pressure sales presentation for a travel club or timeshare.  Just forward this text spam to 7726 and let your carrier deal with them.

"SⓂCall us @ 8555951403 to claim your cruise to the Bahamas for Two!"

Called back and just says, "ending call"

They said i also won a cruise to go to the Bahamas and just to call that number to "follow up" but it was from a wierd email.

reported it to 7726 as spam

yep, just received it today from slnbeupfemts@yahoo.com   "Your number was randomly acknowlesged for a free cruise to the bahamas"   NO THANKS!

Got the same message but email was wrcrqvbq@mail.outlook.com.

They texted me and it said, "Take a free cruise to the Bahamas (855) 595-1403."  It came from a weird email address though:  wvsdu@ymail.com.  I simply replied with, "Do not text this number again."  Fingers crossed that works!

you need to report this spam to 7726 and send them the phone number o contact who called you, so they can block them

I received the same text from ngpuffjp@yahoo.com.

I am ignoring it-it has to be a phishing expedition even though (855) is a toll free prefix.

Starfighter, is the 7726 for any carrier or is it specific to a wireless carrier?

I recieved a message from ldoodhepjtte@gmail.com. I was told to call 8555951403 to claim a criuse to the Bahamas.
I responded:
"Wow! A cruise??!
One time i went on a boat!
I threw up.
Maybe this'll be better...
And not like titanic...
Maybe i'll meet the love of my life!
And maybe he wont die of hypothermia.

Or you could stop sending me stupid spam mail and I won't have to keep reporting you.

I recieved no further messages from them.

7726 is the number almost all wireless carriers use for reporting text spam.  I believe this number is mandated by the FCC.  There is information on the FCC website to use that number to report text spam.
